Just realised, if we hadn't have lost twice to Wigan, they would be in the thick of a relegation battle..

That's pretty hard to stomach.

And we’d be top of the league (assuming we’d won if they were in a relegation battle)

All the analysis and data aside, I just don't get how the board can seriously be sat thinking anything else but that change needs to happen. And if they think that Evatt can be the one to change

Wonder if he'd have said it had it not worked out? 😉

Haha.

He'd have been getting grief at the end and not just half time for still playing the same way!

Mad how getting a point at Barnsley to give us 2 out of 6 against them over the season is being celebrated like winning the Champions League by some.

aye, when you sit down and look at the numbers, it still only...

P28 W5 D11 L21 against the top 6 since since we've been in this league

25 points from a possible 84

hence why i don't think we'll finish top 2 due to our remaining fixtures

What do the last 2 seasons have to do with this?

Is it 2 of tuesdays team played 2 seasons ago?

Post game, I don’t think anybody is. As always on here, it’s quite measured and balanced, unlike Twatter and Face Mither.

The most positive folk are being is that it could act as a spark/turning point/key moment in our promotion push.

If you’re talking about the celebration of the 2nd goal then I really don’t get this point of view. In “that moment” you don’t stop to analyse the bigger picture and the intellectual implications.

Crikey the moment I stop going fucking mental at a significant 99th minute goal, (yes just like we’ve won the champions league!) is the moment I stop travelling the country watching us.

I can only think you didn’t go? Because not one person there wasn’t going crazy. I would say it’s justifiably, the biggest celebration this season so far.

Promotion seasons bring special moments, that’s one of them. Bonkers to think that those celebrations should be kept in check.

Why celebrate like we did?

Because so many “experts” say that a defeat ends our season.

the trends spilled into this season, we've only beaten one of the top 6, (10 man derby)

imo, we don't perform in the bigger games, (local derbys to)

hopefully tuesday's result changes this around

Why the fuck are people so arsed about celebrating. Enjoy the moments you dull cunts

Well, imo, its a massively flawed stat

Team is unrecognisable from 2 years ago and if we look at this season, while we fucked it twice v wigan, we have won 1 lost 1 v blackpool

And

We cant win big games, we cant win derbies, weve no bottle and we are second

Only one of them isnt just opinion

This season

Played 6

won 2 (beat Stevenage as well)

drawn 3

lost 1

Depends what slant you put on it. Better record than previous seasons so far. Only lost 1. We are, at the moment, at least on a par with those around us

So you are saying he’s changed the team massively and still can’t beat top 6 sides

We've beaten two.

We've only lost one, which is an improvement on other seasons.

Looking at the table when we played various teams, Oxford were top 6 and we drew there.

Iirc Port Vale may have up there at the time, and we gained a valuable point with 10 men.

You can also argue that last season our record against this season's top 6 was W5 D2 L3

Portsmouth H 3-0 A 0-1

Derby H 0-0 A 1-2

Barnsley H 0-0 A 3-0

Peterborough H 1-0 A 5-0

Stevenage (Accrington) H 0-1 A 3-2

i'll revisit this in april

Port Vale were in the top 6 when we went this season and we won 1-0.
