£8m bid turned down
My Palace contact assures me that our ??8m bid has been turned down. There is no way that we should be spending any more than that!

Cue Mickey D pi55 take. I'm ready and waiting. Just surprised that it's taken this long.

Living a long way from Bolton I very rarely have the inside track on our transfer dealings, but I have been told by a very good friend of a Palace director that we have made a ??7m bid and that we have been talking with Johnson in Portugal today.

Bruno & JJ Released...
Sad to seem them both go as they have brought so much to the club. Although he didn't actually score I don't think I'll ever see a better performance in a Bolton shirt than the one Jay Jay gave at Spurs a couple seasons back. Hit the woodwork 3 or 4 times and looked like he could be the best player in the world. More difficult to pick out individual moments for Bruno. Mr consistency who just got about his job match after match. I was always surprised but grateful that no bigger clubs came in for him. I really think he could have played for pretty much any team in the league. Thanks to both of you - we wouldn't be where we are without you!

Just back from t'match (thanks to a fucked up M6)
Plus we could end up having 2 wins and a draw against the European Champions.

Did Jamie Pollock play too?

Glad you reminded me of that - very very funny it was. Almost as funny as the Oxford ground which for me still rates as the worst ground I have visited. Am I just making it up or was it just a series of temporary 'stands' which didn't remotely match each other?

capt bruno!
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I think that Bruno is perhaps our most important signing ever. Not only has he been an absolute rock in our defence for many many seasons, but it's well known that he had a lot to do with Youri signing for us. Without Bruno I don't think we would have seen anything like as many of the world class players signing for our club. With all the talk of Diouf's attitude, could there possibly be anyone more different to him than Bruno? In my mind he is the ultimate role model who simply gets on with the job he is being paid to do without any fuss at all. If this really is the end then thanks very much Bruno. You will not be forgotten.

Rob Styles
Rob Styles has refereed 41 matches during season 2005/2006. He has issued 126 yellow cards: an average of 3 yellow cards per match. He has issued 6 red cards: an average of 1 red card every 7 games. Rob Styles has taken charge of 6 Chelsea matches during season 2005 / 2006. Chelsea have not lost any of these matches, winning five and drawing the other. 4 of the 6 red cards that he has issued in total have been during the 6 Chelsea matches he has refereed. 3 of those red cards were issued during Chelsea???s home matches at Stamford Bridge. Rob Styles has so far refereed three Chelsea matches at Stamford Bridge during season 2005 / 2006. On average Rob Styles sends off one opposition player every time he referees Chelsea???s home matches. The teams affected by Rob Styles???s decision to send off their players were Tottenham (Mido), Bolton (Gardner), Manchester City (Distin) and Everton (Carsley). All four of these incidents were viewed by some independent observers to be harsh or described as controversial by others. Stuart Pearce and David Moyes were both baffled by Styles???s approach to refereeing their matches and in particular the red card decisions. They both publicly expressed their feelings in the post match interview. Distin???s dismissal was particularly bizarre as it was for a second booking when he appeared to be having a legitimate discussion with the referee during the half time interval. Martin Jol was more diplomatic regarding Mido???s sending off although he did suggest that John Terry made several very similar challenges to the one that Mido was shown a red card. Sam Allardyce was incensed by Rob Styles failure to send off Essien for what appeared to be a very bad challenge before Bolton were reduced to ten men. Essien was involved in the dismissal of Gardner. The two teams, who did not have players sent off against Chelsea, when Rob Styles was referee, were Arsenal and Aston Villa. In both of these games, Chelsea were the away team. In the other 35 matches Rob Styles has refereed this season, he has issued 2 red cards. On average, Rob Styles has issued one red card every twenty-six and a half hours in matches not involving Chelsea. On average, Rob Styles has issued one red card every two and a half hours during matches involving Chelsea. All of the players shown red cards by Rob Styles, during Chelsea matches, were playing for Chelsea???s opponents. Rob Styles has not issued a red card to any Chelsea player during season 2005 / 2006.

Normally a pretty good atmosphere at Spurs. Let's get right behind the boys on Sunday.

The game...
Any surprised that the Sky 'experts' didn't criticise Gerrard's outrageous dive? Now if that had been Diouf........

TRUE/LOYAYAL BWFC FANS....?
Sorry. As my colleagues would be happy to confirm I'm a little bit on edge today after last night's 'performance'. I reckon that I need to find myself a dark room!

TRUE/LOYAYAL BWFC FANS....?
It is these very people who have just found out what marriage is all about and what a mortgage is! The 16-22 year olds are enjoying themselves. Paying 3 shilling a week keep or whatever the going rate is to stay at mum and dad's house! Don't get me wrong. It wasn't a criticism .... just an observation.

TRUE/LOYAYAL BWFC FANS....?
Last night's following said a lot about our support. There were a load of 16 to 22 year olds, a bunch of people aged 40 plus and not much in between. We seem to have very few supporters in the 25 to 35 year old bracket who traditionally follow clubs across Europe.

just got back from t'game
I can't remember a worse performance this season. Absolutely pathetic.

Uefa Cup places
May not have been obvious but when I said "with the way that Arsenal, Blackburn and Spurs are playing" I meant that Arsenal and Blackburn playing well and Spurs not playing well - hence why I said that us and Spurs will be battling for the final spot.

Uefa Cup places
So tomorrow is a huge huge match. I was hoping that our match at White Hart Lane would be a Champions League play off but with the way that Arsenal, Blackburn and Spurs are playing I reckon that it could easily be a play-off for the final Uefa cup spot. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Arsenal in 4th and Blackburn in 5th

Uefa Cup places
I'm sure this has been discussed before but does anyone know for sure how many places English teams get for next season's Uefa Cup? I can't remember whether we get 3 or 4. Given that 1 will definitely go to Charlton / Boro / West Ham as FA cup winners or losers it may well be that we need 6th place to get a European place this season ... Unless Boro win the competition this season and get into the final which might open up another place. Maybe we should be cheering for them!
