Final - Spain v Argentina 😔
The way FIFA have controlled the footage from this tournament has been ridiculous. There is never a pitch wide shot at the end of any match and they completely avoid showing any sort of confrontation. Hence why we didn’t see Argentina players swinging punches at celebrating Spain players and Parades finally getting his well overdue marching orders

Final - Spain v Argentina 😔
Plenty of time for FIFA, sorry Argentina to turn this round. But I’m really hoping for a lot of Argentina close ups if nothing changes

Final - Spain v Argentina 😔
Nothing wrong with anything there at all. Even by Argentine VAR standards this would be seriously embarassing

England V France
Looking forward to hearing Tuchel explain why Saka didn’t play a minute on Wednesday

England V France
Saka and Rashford playing like they have a point to prove. I assumed they hadn’t played on Wednesday because they were injured. But clearly it was just that Tuchel doesn't rate them. France look like they couldn’t give less of a shit if they tried. But this is still a bad look for Tuchel

Semi Final - England vs Argentina.
Tuchel doubling down. No regrets

Semi Final - England vs Argentina.
It’s not just that we sat deep, but quite how deep we dropped. For the Fernandez goal I think we had 11 players in our own 6 yard box marking 4 Argentina players whilst 4 of their players waited unmarked outside the 18 yard box. Amateur hour

Semi Final - England vs Argentina.
Even in the last minute of injury time when they were winning, Argentina still had 2 players forward to give them an outlet. Exactly what we needed to do. Kane was fucked and should have been replaced by Rashford who would have at least had a chance of giving them something to think about. What a wasted opportunity

England v Ghana
I kind of get that Madueke is going to cut in onto his stronger foot when he’s playing on the right. But surely you move him to the left so he can go on the outside? Even on the left wing he cut inside every time. But now onto his weaker foot

England v Ghana
Agree that Madueke had a poor match. But I still think he was better than Gordon

Shocking decision from McAtee. Simple pass for a tap in.

Meanwhile In America
The problem with Republicans trying to use this argument is that they have spent years arguing "Don't tread on me". They’ve long supported the right to bear arms, protected states right and rejected federal overreach. They’ve previously praised people for turning up to protests not just with weapons on their person but very much on show. Suddenly they’ve abandoned all these principles. I’m guessing the same people saying Pretti should have stayed at home might not have supported the Capitol police if they had chosen to mow down all the protestors who arrived at congress with weapons on January 6th and actually were intent on violence. The hypocrisy would be laughable if it wasn’t so disgusting.

Donald Dead Cat On Is Head Trump
This is one of those rare occasions where politics just shouldn’t matter at all. Every single Brit should be disgusted by Trump’s comments and condemn him for what he has said. No ifs and no buts.

Wigan are 12/5 to win on Saturday. Like printing money.

The Managerial Roundabout
I’d totally forgotten that Jim Ratcliffe spent millions getting Dan Ashworth to United from Newcastle to oversee football decisions but sacked him almost immediately when he said that bringing in Amorim would be a bad idea.

Fair fucking play to that guy. Almost certainly saved more lives with his actions

Todays Games
No way VAR should be getting involved with that. May or may not have been a penalty but certainly not an obvious error

Huddersfield Town (A)
Not sure we’ve won a single 50-50. Embarrassing excuses for tackles all over the pitch.

Burton Albion (A)
I’d hate to see our record against relegation zone teams over the last couple of seasons. Embarrassing

Meanwhile In America
My Nana lived in upstate New York. She was 98 when she passed away. She had good friends who were white, black, Asian, Chinese, Armenian, Italian. Her group of friends gave huge amounts of time volunteering as part of a community that looked after everybody. I remember how excited she was when the States had their first black president - someone who seemed to genuinely care about all people regardless of politics, race, religion etc. She died a few weeks after Obama was first voted in as President. She was so full of hope for the country. I thank God she didn’t have to witness this spiral the US has been on over recent years. Truly so sad.

Now confirmed that he has been killed. Would be ironic in the extreme if this happens to be the event which finally gets the States to address gun crime.

England games
Well that was unexpected. And very good. The question now is whether he sticks with those players or bring back Saka, Bellingham, Palmer etc. when they’re fit. Personally I’d give another try to the team that’s produced our best performance in a long time.
