We have an excellent record, but Dowie will have them really wound up for this one. 3 losses in a row would not be a great start for them. We'll have to play a lot better than we did on Wednesday, but that won't be hard.

Better than being swapped because no-one will buy you!

Anelka wasn't available when we were after Johnson. We actually went after Anelka first but were originally told that he would cost around ??15m. For the same money would you prefer... Player A who has played has been sold for a total of over ??50m and played at Real Madrid, Liverpool and PSG or Player B who was swapped for Clinton Morrisson Tough choice I know!
  4. But they won't get to see nearly as much dog shit
  5. Anything to add on this Natasha? And exactly which players have Pompey signed as of late?
  6. He scored 14 in 39 last season for Fenerbache. I'd take that!
  7. Our record signing will obviously be needing a song so here are a couple to get you started... Nicholas Anelka to the Jay Jay Okocha 'song' In the style of Hierro: Anelka Whooa..... He's always in a strop. He'll take us to the top or Anelka Whooa..... He's played for all the rest. But now he's at the best
  8. I may be wrong but I would have said that there were at least 30 rows and there were at least 30 fans in each of those which gives 900. At that's a conservative estimate!
  9. But where's the pic of you and Mikey from Big Brother who was also there? That's complete rubbish. I am notoriously bad crowd sizes but I'd say it was nearer to a 1000
  10. Whilst he hasn't brought much to the team, Vaz Te hasn't done anything wrong in the first couple of games and I suspect that Sam doesn't want to drop him yet for fear of harming his confidence. If he doesn't improve quickly then I'm pretty sure that Stelios will be back in the team sooner rather than later.

Fulham only lost 3 matches at home last season. Considering our record down there a point is a good result.
  12. Put one player in hospital for a couple of nights before being sent off for 2 bad fouls on different players. Did you not see the look on his face last night - he meant it!
  13. I was hoping that a ball would drop between Faye and Diop - now that would have been a tackle to watch! Both hard but fair players from what I've seen.
  14. Alan Brazil and Micky Quinn didn't even think it deserved yellow. Had to turn the radio off because I got so frustrated listening to them going on about how that was normal when they played and that Thatcher had done nothing wrong. I'm sure they'd both be happy for their kids to be on the receiving end of a challenge like that. Dicks
  15. Penalties was the only way either team was going to score last night. I thought we were pretty poor and yet I heard some fan on the radio saying how good we were. I also thought Nolan had a pretty average match and yet I heard another fan saying he was imperious and deserved an England place. Would definitely have taken a point before kick off.
  16. Not unless they have changed the rules .... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...sea/4348738.stm
  17. One of the worst incidents that I can remember on a football pitch - without being melodramatic that could have killed the guy. Unfortunately that challenge shows the complete stupidity of the fact FIFA won't allow retrospective action when the ref has dealt with an incident on the pitch. Thatcher should be getting a ban of 3, 6, 9 months or longer and yet because the ref mistakenly gave a yellow FIFA rules say that nothing more can happen. Well the FA should say bollocks to FIFA and ban him anyway. There's no place for that in football and if FIFA argue against a ban then they'll make themselves look even more stupid than they alread do.
  18. I believe that Stelios didn't start on Saturday because he got a slight knock in the England Greece match and I'm guessing that Sam won't want to change a winning side. Plus, whilst Vaz Te didn't do too much on Saturday, he didn't really do anything wrong and leaving him out would probably affect his confidence.
  19. The official site suggests that we will start with the same team as Saturday.
  20. Anyone who's been to a match in Europe will probably have noticed that away fans there generally seem to 'cluster' in one area of their stand. For some reason we seem to scatter ourselves as far apart from each other as possible - probably not helping with atmosphere. Why is that?
  21. Got to say that last night's result puts Saturday's performance into context. Not surprisingly all the reports seemed to focus on how poor Spurs were on Saturday ..... but if you ask me that's because we didn't let them play.
  22. This weekend's contentious issues just confirmed that in most cases video analysis won't help all that much. Despite seeing all of these incidents from numerous incidents, fans seem to be split 50 50 on all of them. The problem is that even with offside and ball over the line incidents which should be the most clear cut, you will often find that 2 people see them differently.
  23. But the fact he has chosen to leave twice might not!

I'm afraid that Stiles can't have it both ways. He claimed that he gave the penalty because even if there was no contact from the defender then the intent was there. So how can he not give even a yellow card? Perhaps because he didn't think the challenge was meriting of yellow and therefore he shouldn't actually have given the penalty. Confused? I know that I am!

Can't see him going to Portsmouth but it would be nice to have him on a longer contract!
