  1. It's not like my Dad and I wouldn't keep our mouths shut. It would be very very sad if it's not safe enough for people to just go and watch the match regardless of where they're sitting. Can you imagine people having trouble at the Reebok so long as they're relatively courteous?
  2. Bought Marseille flights and hotels as a Xmas pressie for my Dad, but as non ST holders it's not looking all that great for tickets in our end. Anybody have any serious insight into whether it would be safe to go in with the home fans?
  3. I'd like to throw Mike Newell's name into the hat. No nonsense manager like big sam
  4. And that tackle by Rooney too. I take it Riley's not allowed to book him either?
  5. Today confirms exactly why I don't like Mike Riley as a ref. Neither of Nakata's tackles last week were worse than the one committed by Steven Gerrard in the first half and yet he doesn't get a card. Take that to the FA Sam!

Looks like we could go above Wigan then!
  7. I think we've been here before. Can't see any reason why we'd take many less than we took to Portugal. I may be wrong but I don't think 2,800 is enough. Assuming they can go back and get more it obviously won't be a problem. That said if the club have been told (as I've heard) that this won't be possibly then they should have just taken 4,000. I can't see us taking less than 2,500 so the risk would be not selling 1,500 tickets at ??15. Can the club really not afford risking ??22,500 to ensure that everyone gets in?
  8. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see it play out just as you have described. Mike Newell is a no nonsense manager just like Big Sam and personally I think we should consider him if Sam moves on he is available.
  9. Unfortunately I had to work this morning so I had to watch the match in a pub this afternoon, but I can confirm that Sissoko was very lucky not to be sent off. He definitely stamped on Diouf intentionally. Funnily enough they didn't repeat Gerrard's alleged stamp on Nolan, but Kevin certainly thought it was intentional. Our second goal wasn't handball, but it was offside
  10. You're not seriously thinking about staying in Luton are you?

I simply cannot believe how miserable some of you lot are. I'll bet you hate Christmas too!
  12. Great work. Can't wait for the sequel

I'm assuming that you missed of beach balls because they're a given?
  14. Just wondering if there was a specific plan. I personally think that we all need to blow up our balls at the same time for maximum effect. I also think that it would be a good idea if this was done after TV coverage has started. Any thoughts?

Bad news I'm afraid. Can't get my hands on a van after all. Sorry. Hope you all manage to get back to Porto safe and sound.
  16. Found it. Thanks.
  17. Anybody know who had the image of the dancing girl on their messages. Was about to send it to my mates but it's vanished! Thanks.

Looks like there will be enough to fill it. I'll get in touch with them now and if it's a goer I'll PM those who showed interest first about final details. Fingers crossed!

Looks like we may be able to get a 9 person van for about ??50 for the day. We'll probably try to get up to Guimaraes for mid afternoon and although we won't be rushing away after the match we probably won't stick around too long as I'll probably be driving and will want to get back to Porto so that my mates can get me drunk!
  20. OK. Me and 3 mates are probably going to rent a car for the day on Thursday after all. We were going to rent a Corsa, but it's possible that we can get a 9 seater bus instead if other people want to get a lift and split the cost. Of any interest to anyone?

I've got good and bad news for you. Afraid that you can only get Duty Free if you're actually going outside the EU. If you're going to Portugal then you won't be able to get any fags at the airport. The good news though is that generally on the continent the booze and fags are even cheaper in the supermarkets .... plus there's pretty much no limit on how much you can bring back if you but it in regular shops.
  22. Only just now when I picked up a message from the ticket office. Was fully expecting them to say that I'd been unsuccessful so was slightly excited when they said the tickets were in the post. As I was on 'open sale' hopefully this means that everyone's got one .... fingers crossed!
  23. Where did you get that from? Can't see it on the home page. I take it that you're just winding me up? Please?
