Game on Saturday was an opportunity lost .........the dingles were not at full strength , sometimes a manager has to take a chance & trust the players HE has brought in such as Riga & Smolarek Lack of ambition is a killer in the prem ....I thought Muamba was terrible the introduction of Ricardo gave us a bit of zip , but Megson is a cautious man . We have drawn two home games 0-0 , maybe a more attack minded manager would have gambled in both games against opposition that were definately beatable .I would sooner lose one game & win the other rarther than draw both, especially 0-0. I think his post match interview summed up his football philosophy when he talked up the dangers of the game ' opening up if you dont take your chances'....just how many chances was he talking about ? I have nothing against Megson & I am grateful to him for keeping us up but the bottom line is that he is a 'point a game ' manager ,whether that will be enough to keep us up this season is another matter. I hope he proves me wrong & I get stuffed with humble pie...........but I doubt it.

Not exactly but it does seem a long time ago the player in question was sir roger hunt who was having a stinker in an early seventies match against Torquay United I was giving him some stick & shouted 'TAKE HUNT OFF' a nano second later he wellied the ball into the top corner of the net . henceforth in the Great Lever end I was known as the above or 'that stupid c**nt over there' so apologies to all Nicky Hunt fans , dont think he did that badly last season when he played.
