  1. bit unlucky too, in that i think that earlier in the match he would prob have won a free kick!! still should have belted it....
  2. Would have been quite ironic if those coppers on duty knocked off at normal finish time due to tory imposed overtime cuts at the Met and left the place to be ransacked. Not that they seemed to be doing much in the first place TBH.
  3. Made issue of it on MOTD saying he likely to be getting a call from the FA!!
  4. They are proper regional fayre. Was in the Army and tried describing them but no one from anywhere else in the country had any f'ckin idea what I was on about!! There bonfire nights must have been shit.
  5. I am gonna have a bite too.. If you had a bad smash on the motorway and was in shit state, the policeman looks after you until the paramedics arrive, they keep you alive while the fireman cut you out, the highways agency are trying to keep the rest of the m'way moving. You are taken by the ambulancemen to A&E where the trauma team doctors and nurses stabilise you and stop you from dying. You are moved by the porters to intensive care where you get more doctors, nurses, & physios looking after you, plus auxilliaries, cleaners, chefs etc helping to make your stay comfortable. You then get better but still need some help at home, so social services arrange for some home care for you whilst you get back on your feet. Whilst you have not been able to get back to your real employment the police have investigated and have got a case against the driver that caused the crash, the CPS agree and prosecute, where the court service facilitates the prosecution and the magistrate finds the person guilty so you can now claim some compensation. At the end of this I hope you would have the bollocks to take some time off from your real employment to tell those; that according to you do not, what you really think of people in public service. I do not know what you do, neither do I care, but I know most right thinking folk would put virtually every person/profession mentioned above higher than your job.
  6. The wanker is at it again; http://www.dailymail...-buck-stop.html The thing is davies is the easy scape goat here, Crouch did nothing in 70 minutes and Rooney not much more in 90 so what was he expecting!! Is he trying to imply Davies' 20 minute cameo was the reason England were shit?? As an England fan I do not think Crouch or Davies ahould be anywhere near the national team if we are realistically going to win anything, but as we have no one better Davies was well worth his place in that squad . The other thing is they keep saying he is not international quality but if he was Irish, Welsh or Scottish he would havbe won dozens of caps so which is it???
  7. Aged 12 he was 'Chief of Security' for Salman Rusdie when the Ayatollah issued the 1989 Fatwa!
  8. But by your reasoning lets just get back to the status quo of 1997 with regard to public spending and it will be right. The point is the tories are going way beyond this, they are cutting everywhere, not being intelligent and identifying the undeniable waste that exists and getting rid of that. Some government departments have actually reduced over the same period but they have to take the same cuts as those departments that have become too bloated?? How is that right. Ultimately as a country we need to decide what public services we actually want, and the govt needs to tell us what this will actually cost . Also the money lent to the banks, is this included in the deficit figures??, becuase at some stage we will get that back.
  9. Spot on, they keep saying we all share the pain but that is bollocks as they keep cherry picking differant groups to shaft. The only fair way for that to happen is to increase tax in each band for working folk whilst reforming and reducing benefits for the non-working folk. That is the only way everyone is affected to a similar degree.
  10. Apparently we will all share the pain!!! Yet Georgie Porgie seems find specific demographics in society to fuck over...
  11. Crawley I seem to have been in a very similar position to you, although fortunately both mine are now at school, the youngest started in recetion this Sept. The tax credits were very helpful, as is the child benefit. The one failing of the system is why stay at home mums get free nursery places?? If you do not want to work then fine, but neither should you really expect free child provision either, surely that should be for working parents..
  12. It is not a question of need, it is a universal allowance for every taxpayer who has children on the assumption the country still wants people to have kids to grow up and pay tax, which they now need more than ever.. And it does not matter if you are on minimum wage or Wayne Rooney, your kids cost you far more than the ?1k a year you get back, plus the more you earn the more you have feckin paid in.. Also where does it stop, should education be free if your pay higher rate tax, should healthcare?? It is the only tangible thing people most people get back from the state for paying vast sums in tax and for it to be taken away on the pretence it somehow contributed the the financial mess we are in is disingenuous... I do not pay higher rate tax either before anyone starts.
  13. That is true, but when you miss gilt edged chances like today and last sunday to kill the game, and don't, it gives extra encouragement to the opposition. I also think Cahill & Knight as a partnership do not keep enough cleansheets!!
  14. So two games in a row that shit finishing has cost us!!!
  15. Spot on.. I thought it was a feckin brilliant series, the comedy of the first two episodes increased the sense of how bad things were in the final two episodes. The actor who played Mick, made it for me because he was seriously scary, and the scene with him and was as good as you will get on TV for me. The way she was pacing around in the lounge shiting herself but also pushing him to the limit was dificult to watch, as were the rape scenes, but isn't that what you want drama to do?? Also, I doubt I was the only one whose stomach sank when they gave the warning about sexual violence after the last set of adverts in the final episode?? For me this was the best thing on TV since the Red Riding series.
  16. There was just one free kick given against Davies for backing in that looked like a bad decision to me.. Unless Elmo did get clipped when he missed his chance???
  17. Its amazes me how quick an hour goes by watching it, especially as its pretty slow paced on screen, must be compelling??
  18. Who is the creepy dad?? as he looks familiar, what else he been in??
  19. Lee Bradbury 1992 Army Youth Cup Final, Him for Infantry, me for R Signals, lost on pens after extra time!!
  20. Anyone know what OC's problem with Clattenburg was ar half time??
  21. Wonder what Rovers fans think about this??? He really is losing it...
  22. So lets hope they don't hold a high line then!! As thats what they tried in the past and at Arsenal and we always look awful.. Just sit deep and let them try to get round us, not push up and make it easy for them to get behind us..
