  1. I sincerely hope you are right, but ifear that we will be losing Anelka. Diouff, Campo and Ben Haim. Davies could follow Sam To Newcastle - nodding the long balls down for Owen to get on the end of. And who do we replace them with? Fowler? Viduka? Luke Young?
  2. Bottom three next year will be Brum, Derby or whoever else gets promoted, and Man C. Bolton will finish about 14th. Sunderland will be top ten. Spurs 4th. so speaks the oracle.
  3. True, but so are their strikers, midfielders and defenders. And fans.
  4. Do you think, if he does go to Citeh, he would take Nolan with him?
  5. But you can't really judge on that basis, beacause then you are suggesting that all goals conceded are just the keepers fault. It's a bit harsh blaming Jussi for all of Hunt's mistakes.
  6. Campo.
  7. Just a thought; April - Sam says he wants a rest. June - McLaren's England lose another qualifier. July - England job becomes available..........
  8. Well said.
  9. This is utter bollox! Fair enough, his kicking can be haphazard, but theres nowt wrong with his catching, punching and cross taking. And his shot stopping is second to none as was shown at Chelsea today. About three weeks ago he was topping the poll for player of the season, a couple of slightly under par games later and he is rated by one idiot as worse than Al Habsi, a player that we have never even seen. Christ, with "fans" as fickle as that no wonder Sam's had enough.
  10. Both Amy Winehouse albums, - fine singer, fine drinker - and Grinderman, the new Nick Cave band. No Pussy Blues is a great track.
  11. Didn't we get a very dubious penalty at OT this year? Mind you, we were 4-0 down at the time.
  12. But will any of them ever see the light of day in the first team, or will they follow the Comyn-Platt's of this world into obscurity?
  13. Dean Windass has had a good season. Might be worth a punt.
  14. In fact, it seems a pretty miserable day through out history. 350 people injured in NF rally in 1977. Last executions carried out in 1964. Last person to be executed at the Tower of London in 1941. "Brides in the bath murderer" hanged in 1941. Seems that my arrival was the first piece of good news for years!
  15. On the day I was born they built the Berlin Wall. Now can we end the debate about who's old?!
  16. I know who you mean, that bloke is such a pussy. And he only watches half the game, spends the rest of the time pushing past everyone to get to and from the bar. Even my son pointed out that he screams obscenities into the ear of his daughter and he's not averse to the odd four letter word himself. As for the game, I agree that Hunt was much better than usual, Gardner was awful and Ben Haim and Meite superb. Speed again did Nolan's job as well as his own and was therefore knackered after an hour. Faye worries me. He's fine for intimidating the likes of the soft gets like Henry, Lampard or Defoe, but theres not much in the way of skill or refinement to his game. He's like the opposite of Campo. Both have their uses but a mix of the two would be ideal. Diouf was great. Skinned the full back every time he went near him. All in all, a much needed and well deserved three points.
  17. Ok, I missed out the word "beat". My anger got the better of my typing!
  18. Alien style?? Come off it! These are Andorran part timers. We should be able to them with Ferdinand up front and Rooney in goal! Come to think of it, I'm surprised McLaren hasn't tried that.
  19. Spot on. Andranik in for Nolan. That will at least give us a bit more pace in midfield. I can't see why Thompson should make any difference. He did nowt at Wigan or Portsmouth. I must admit I do have a soft spot for Campo. He provides the only midfield creativity we have, but he hasn't been good recently. Maybe play Speed as holding midfielder and give Tal a chance. But Hunt has got to go, and that means playing Ben Haim at right back. Still lacking pace all over the park though. Quickest players in the squad? Smith and Vaz Te - both out on loan.
  20. Until yesterday Jussi has been superb. He must have saved us a good dozen or more points this season. You're 'avin a larf ain't yer?
  21. You're not leaving much room for discussion there, are you?
  22. I hope you are right, but i'm not optimistic. West Ham seem to have found some balls judging by their win today and last weeks three goals against Spurs. And Sheff U and wiggin are never easy for us. Knowing Bolton we will probably pick points up against Arsenal and Chelski.
  23. Can we now lay to rest the theory that we are worse when he is injured or suspended?
  24. 10? Where do you get 10 from? I reckon we will get a point against Sheff U and we'll beat Villa - O'Neill hugely overated. As for today, it was utterly embarressing. Can someone tell me the last time Nolan played well? Gardner. Wasn't he our player of the season last year - what has happened to him? Faye gets caught out of position so often, and we've been carrying Hunt for 18 months. Apart from the cup games against Arsenal, we have not performed since Sam got that manger of the month award in December.
