when I made this thread there was some hope of auto's, my thoughts now are hoping we don't need to push ourselves so much just to keep our playoff place and then have to go up another level in the playoffs 10 point lead over 7th is healthy but teams in and around have 1 or 2 games in hand, given our last fixtures + the playoffs, every game is gonna like something major is on the line, which brings so much pressure, unless we get to those last 5 and 3 playoff games with a biggish lead that allows for slip ups those, it's not realistic to see this team win all 8 in a row. we will be caught and overtaken eventually if results don't improve on our last 3, we are also due a loss.

Is it tactical or mental, they are shit scared of having a lead, we were 1 up and went defensive, we got it back to 2-2 and went defending again and almost lost it before we almost won it, this is a going on for far too long. Let inferior teams back in it one way or another and because we don't kill games it hurts, we were 3-0 up vs Barnsley and was like at half time oh fuck were not used to this and almost threw it away not taking chances and killing games off and scraping last minute points is never going to lead to promotion and because it's never ending, it's rather a fault of the players ability or mental or how they are told to handle situations in games which we'll probably never fully know unless someone could sneak in and listen to the team talks/training etc, perhaps a mix of all this. if you're afraid of leading Blackpool, get ready to be petrified come the playoffs.

It all adds up, but there was a slight bit of hope left in me, hoping we get some wins and some help from others before Lincoln and Cardiff play each other in 2 weeks, that doesn't matter now. Once the other teams have caught up with their games in hand, it's gonna be even tighter below us and the gap above widened, doubt we'll throw playoffs away, but no guarantee to get a home leg 2nd, which even saying that if you're drawing 2-2 with Blackpool in a must win game, then what hope can you take? There's no shame in being 3rd but for auto's to need a miracle in February? it's dissappointing.

Today is when it's gone, another close game, gifting them goals, can't build on a lead, same old story, not ready. That mistake from the keeper, that will be in our defenders minds going forward now, which may lead to more feck ups Good job Kenny was offside because that and his miss vs Reading,my word, is this the type of player he is?

It's hard to imagine us having better days, amazing video, look at some of the players mentioned who we never actually got, what a dramatic incredible era, great players, staff and just magic, Okocha will be forever my all time fave player. that League Cup final hurt a lot, cheated and the ref was a joke throughout and unexpected, was convinced we'd win, that's always a what if game for me, much like Holdsworth miss and how we'd have faired in the final and if it wasn't for that ref v Ipswich and we went up, a year earlier, we wouldn't have had that 'era' it would have been different, but how.

I would not trust this team atm going into an away 2nd leg - if we didn't have a big lead, not once have we won by more than 1 all season, performances are like a roller coaster, nick a point at Lincoln, should have smashed AFC Wimbledon 1st half, completely different 2nd half, dominated Wigan and Reading and got 4 points, but only a goalkeeper mistake (Sheehan) and a last minute equaliser (Burstow) got us them, 2 moments that lasted about 1 minute or so in total in 180 minutes + All this could change come the playoffs (if we are in them) but it would be nice to see us for perhaps only for a few times to prove we can actually win with comfort, I'm not asking for when we went to Oldham in the Cup and could have doubled our 6 goals, but for a third placed team, you'd think there would have been a period in the season were it's not been anything but a struggle, once we get say a 2-0, 3-0 etc away from home, I think it'll mentally help so this group so much. I don't care if we win 1-0 all season btw or if we go up not winning by more at all, but It would be nice to be relaxed now and again lol, we have our star player coming back at the end, perhaps this talk is too premature.

8 games unbeaten with a run of like 8 games that are all "winnable" before an incredibly difficult April/May, each game goes and the gap seems to widen above us and we really are looking at the end game now We haven't beaten anyone by more than 1 goal since 8th November vs bottom of the league Port Vale (4-0) and our performances recently are mixed, good for a half here and there and needing moments in the last minute to scrape points whilst missing a ton of great chances, I think with this keeper we'd have seen more points earlier in season, in a part I think our performances where much better but we dropped points so much. If we go into April, 16 unbeaten (that seems far-fetched to say lol), confidence may be sky high playing those teams but when we can't seem to take easy chances and kill games, it's gonna be one hell of a sweat-fest against these tougher teams. I think part of me feels there's still a chance because nerves play a part, I just don't think given our last 5 games we will get top 2 because we will need Lincoln to have a big slip up whilst we almost go perfect, if we have a lot of dropped points in these next 8 games, the worst case could be we surrender the playoffs like last season, but I doubt this, you can't be third all season, without really clicking either for it go wrong all of a sudden, if it is to be the playoffs those last 5 games are great preparation at least. How do you see it going? gonna be nervy. NEXT 8 LAST 5 Blackpool H Stockport H Exeter City A Cardiff A Wycombe H Huddersfield H Rotherham A Bradford A Doncaster H Luton H Port Vale A Stevenage H Plymouth A

Reading (A)
Who knows what game it would have been had Kenny scored but it's same old story almost every other game, new signings still missing and having to scrape points at the end against inferior sides, a point keeps us unbeaten but look how comfortable those top 2 seems to make things, yet every game we have is a close game.

Reading (A)
Start with a terrible miss end the half with a great break chance put wide by Rapter, we didn't sign them for this, ffs come on

Last few days we've seen Kalulu sending off vs Inter for Juve and Girona's 2nd goal being allowed when a clear foul on Barca's Kounde, I know League 1 refs are shocking but it's everywhere, needs to improve and fast, it almost feels like cheating when they do it, so blatant to everyone it's an error, yet they fuck up time and time again, cynically thinking could be corrupt too and secretly have a team they like and if they change a decision it'll effect the said team they like *cough Real Madrid, cough*

They do have Mansfield who beat Burnley away today and have Cardiff as their next 2 away matches but you'd think they'd beat Northampton and Blackpool at home, just got to win ourselves and hope, if we can't we must finish 3rd or 4th because we'll lose most matches like that given Lincoln's chances

No Etete at least for us

Lincoln City (A)
That JM shot at start of 2nd half was one of the worst ever lol, subs looked decent, Kenny does a nice run and the ref would rather guess at a goal kick over a corner.

Lincoln City (A)
It would have been 95% over with a loss so at least we repaired it, but it's a better result for Lincoln imo given no damage as been done to their lead over us and we have 1 less game to claw it back, but at least we are still in the mix with a draw, cannot be saying we'll take a point vs Reading though.

Lincoln City (A)
Such a huge game, can't help but think of a couple of season back when we went to Pompey and Derby and lost but we missed sitters (how tf Dion!) and chances in both and we're quite unlucky to lose them, needing a win brings a lot of pressure, we'll see what they're made of tomorrow, it's not over with a draw and we've seen what's happened to Coventry's lead, so even with a win we still need favours but what a boost it will be.

So they take away a goal which is the objective of football and would rather give a red card, Liverpool would have taken an extra -1 GD over that red and City have been punished by knocking a goal off, screw whatever laws they went by, just see the situation for what it was. Cherki will never get that goal back, just stupid.

Barnsley (H)
No idea why in back to back games we have been terrific 1st half and then 2nd half we've almost come out a different team, grateful of the win, however it would be nice for the top 2 to drop some point whilst we are winning too, makes next week a must win and they have the insurance of a game in hand. Big save from Bonham to keep it 3-2, their 1st goal was a lucky deflection, sometimes moments like that can change a game, just gotta play for both halves, because if we play like we have in the 1st half in the 2 last games we beat anyone.
