It might be the fact that we've scored 0 goals in 2 games and lost to the bottom of the table but my mind is kinda swaying me into thinking the worst case scenario but with the acceptance of at least the World Cup stuff will be something to look forward to regardless off our ending. Our January transfer optimism as gone, keeper as turned bad, Raptor does nothing, CBT injured, Kenny inconsistent and only effect the games now and again in moments. We could have at least been absolutely sure of the playoffs vs Doncaster and Port Vale and with a glimmer of hope of catching Cardiff, but that's all gone and now go into our toughest period in shocking form and the players but feel absolutely embarrassed and downbeat.

I often refrain myself from being overly critical of players due to us being League 1, but we saw the other week how Kenny lashed at a shot near the end when in a great position (was offside) and Dempsey did that today, zero composure, was a whack it kinda shot, I know it was on the right side and he's right footed but that as to be going across the keeper or given he had some time (relative to the norm in football) shift it a bit more inside and outside of foot bottom left (again this a tough skill, perhaps asking too much of League 1), or trust your weaker foot, move it on your left and curl it bottom left, his shot after that should not be testing the keeper either, it was perfect, well perfect for that type of range of shot. In hindsight CBT as to pass to Dalby instead of shooting and getting injured, I know he would have felt so capable given his goal vs Wycombe, but a teamplay options is always best given that situation imo. we should have won it near the end and we'll win that game more often that not, but that is nothing but 2 points dropped with a slight bonus of keeping our unbeaten run going. Now please use these next 2 games that should be 99% a win as something to carry on into much tougher tests, rack up some goals.

Different game if Gale scores 2nd minute (for better or worse), he does bend a lot of crosses and shots wide, needed some similar curve in that position, shouldn't be giving the keeper a chance to save with feet, out played for most of that game, but still had moments like Forino's off the line, another rescue job, this time one that was off the scale. Loads to work on because the majority of that game cannot be ignored, enjoy the comeback, it was epic, this team is like Leverkusen of a couple of years ago, it's not coincidence it keeps happening, but needing to do it, shows for most of our games, that we are not a team consistent enough to be comfortable. I doubt they are coached to play games that require these comebacks, so their must be fault in them executing the tactics etc, it's east to ignore things when you win, but I don't think it's a bad thing to still analyse the matches as a whole. These last moment jobs will further implement doubt into our opposition going forward, knowing nothing is safe, which brings pressure in it's own, even if we can sustain that last part of the game for say 55-60% of a game, we thrash most, but we won't thrash most playing like we did today, for most of the game.

it's a good point about Sunderland and also if you look at Oxford who beat us, they were very far behind Derby and Pompey(and us) yet the following season they finished near to them in the Championship, so it's not a given for a team to do terrible, each season with new players is different, I just don't like the idea of giving teams who normally wouldn't finish in the playoffs an opportunity to go up if they haven't been able to after 46 games normally, I know some seasons there could be just a few points separeting say 4th/5th/6th/7th/8th etc so it's not like they'll always be a big gap in ability, but I think increasing playoff spots means there's less reward for finishing higher and giving teams lower an opportunity to take your place in a league above I'm totally fine with the playoffs as they are, there is zero need for it be extended, unless of course it's all about money or if one of the decision makers who thought of this idea supports a team who constantly finishes just outside the playoffs lol, when the clubs voted for this to happen, who exactly votes yes? is it ultimately the owner?

rewarding failure and it could mean teams in the normal playoff positions are more relaxed and under little threat and finish the season protecting their main players and using their backups to be fresh and ready for playoffs which could effect the rest of the whole league, losing games near end they wouldn't normally because they are comfortable way sooner in say early April. why should a team who's so far away from top 2 get a shot at joining them in the Prem? they may do shit in playoffs, but in one off games, who knows? unless whoever made this up wants to see more teams do worse than Derby did?!? these teams get a chance to play bigger teams with the luck of a cup draw, they shouldn't have a chance by one off games, they've had 46 games to 'normally' achieve that. probably same people who made semi finals at Wembley not neutral grounds and have the main stadium for the main event.

Won by more than 1 and biggest win away for some time in league is massive going forward, you'd hope. missed another sitter and keeper dodgy for third game in a row for a goal, but today we never let it effect us unlike most of the season .. we've been threatening this scoreline for some time and lets be honest a lot of games (look at our draws) should have been killed like today and we'd be closer to the top 2 if not past them don't have this as a one off ! it surely should prove to themselves they are capable of destroying a team.
