  1. #6minutesforGarySpeed You know it makes sense. Those on Twitter, sort it!
  2. This is by far the most heartfelt and genuine thread I have ever seen on a forum, let alone a football forum. It just goes to show how widespread, and quite often hidden, the whole issue of depression is. I have been fortunate never to have suffered from it myself, but have lost a close friend to suicide and have had some people very close to me suffer from severe bouts of it. whatever the circumstances of Gary's death may have been, I feel I have learnt a lot this weekend, especially from the people on this thread who have been brave enough to speak openly about their problems. I certainly won't be so quick to judge in the future.
  3. There have been so many things said over the past few days that have really struck a cord with me. Gartside, about nobody having a bad thing a say to about him because he hadn't a bad thing to say about anyone else. Smiley (on Facebook) about if he realised how well thought of he was before his death. He had a humility and work ethic about him that was very similar to the late great Nat Lofthouse. To lose two great ambassadors of the club within a year is truly saddening. RIP Gary, I truly hope you have found peace with yourself.
  4. Travel agents should solely be used for old people who are too dithery to know how to book cruises in the internet. Anybody else is either lazy or stupid.
  5. I'm still alive. Happy won't 'unban' me though
  6. Anyone follow 'her' on Twitter? Queen_UK Some dull stuff, but some as funny as..
  7. This Cheap, clean, modern and only a stones throw from the town centre pubs. About 10 or so mins walk to the train station too.
  8. There was a lot of guests on here viewing this thread when I came on last night. Most of the smaller clubs have 'bigger' England following. It was an obvious target for lazy journos. Very much this. It wasn't one of our own and I don't even like Welsh football.
  9. Heard it was Swansea v one of Cardiff's top boys Squidgy Slug VVITK

It's off As are all the London fixtures
  11. The OB got him? Didn't see that. Despite the white on white element, the bloke going nuts was the only entertaining thing I witnessed all afternoon
  12. Overnighting after the Blackpool match for me.
  13. Add me to the 'lost wallet list'
  14. Seemed very welcoming IMO.
  15. Why are folk staying near Heathrow? It's the arseend of nowhere. It's a good 90mins away from Wembley (more like two hours by the time you have got the bus into the tube station at Heathrow).
  16. There's a Wetherspoons on the Edgware Rd in Colindale that is a 10min walk away from the Tube station and then you can jump a regular bus service that is a 10min ride to outside Wembley (a lot closer than the tube station there). A lot opt for the Wetherspoons in Kingsbury because it is by the side of the tube that is only a couple of stops away. I know for a fact they hike their prices up on event/matchdays and the place is mobbed. The colindale one is generally business as usual, no plastic glasses and you don't have to wait a week to get served.
  17. That 1929 ticket is very good value depending on it's condition. They can fetch up to 300 quid in decent nick, but the bottom has fallen out of the market at present. The charity shield ones are about on the money. I'm not sure how much the Spurs one goes for, but wasn't that the year they did the double and everything trebles in value as a result?

    TSO.
  19. Very moving day on Wednesday. It was nice to see so many off here and a lot of familiar faces pay their respects. I sincerely doubt that one man will mean so much to the town ever again, and rightly so.
  20. All depends if you trust Alibob's dad
  21. A reliable source posted on Facebook that they are starting off at the town hall at 11.45 aiming to be at the church for 12.30.
  22. Exactly. I know it's a matter of personal choice the way people pay their respects, but if Bolton Town centre isn't crammed with people from the town (whether it be BWFC fans or otherwise), then there are some that should hang their heads in shame. He is the most iconic Boltonian of all time and he dedicated his life to the club we hold dear.
  23. I am guessing 11am onwards. This from the council: The funeral cortege will travel up Bank Street and into Bradshawgate before turning into Silverwell Street and into the Parish Church for the start of the service at 12.30pm on Wednesday 26th January. Once the service has finished the cortege will head off for a private committal. Church Bank will be closed to normal traffic and there will be no parking on the church car park
