  1. David Ngog? Marvin Sordell? Keith Andrew’s on £30k a week on a 3 year contract?
  2. Surf Moor

  5. I don’t think we will either - if 25,500 sold then there should still be another 2,000 spaces….
  6. It looks like Bradford have been given 4,697. I think South Stand holds 5,300? So 600 short of capacity. Maybe a few hundred empty segregation seats between there and West Stand as well. Say 1,000 in total. So, should still be able to get 27,700 or so in
  7. Came and Caldwell
  8. Get out of this competition as quickly as is possible.
  9. 12 league goals in 36 starts (McAtee got 11 in fewer starts). Collins has undoubted talent but maybe Schuey has decided the mentality in the squad is weak and he’s decided that Collins is one of those he can move on, if he gets a decent fee.
  10. If AC goes then it’s probably for a combination of reasons: his sketchy work rate and Schuey wanting to inject some steel and graft in to the team, we’ve too many number 10 type players for the system Schuey wants to play, and it frees up a good amount of money in fee and wages for somebody new
  11. United averaging 30,000 fewer than they do now! Shit, plastic fans…
  12. And Big Dan was the new Ivan Toney…
  13. Mike Ring, in the mid-80s, left me traumatised and may have been worse than Etete. Worst thing about signing Etete is that Evatt said we’d been watching him for some time. What had he seen?
  14. I guess it’s about opinions - I think not having a decent back-up cost us, you take a different view - fair enough. There needs to be balance in the squad - we probably need players in most of those positions you mention. I’m not sure that stops us getting a decent goalie. Last season we had a poor back-up. Since then we’ve got a decent back-up goalie in AND spent relatively big (although sometimes not wisely) on Schon, Randall, McAtee et al.
  15. I can agree with you that Evatt should have backed his player more strongly and that he treated him poorly whilst also believing that not having a decent back-up keeper cost us promotion.
  16. Not having a decent quality back-up keeper probably cost us promotion last season
  17. Neal also left us pretty much in the same place as he found us in terms of league position after circa 6 years. A play-off final loss that left a scar. He couldn’t get us over the line of promotion. I seem to remember after that Southampton defeat in his last season he went and took a break mid-season. He had a mixed record on transfers (Trevor Morgan, Mike Ring, Chic Charnley et al were poor but he brought in Walker, Brown, Ripley on loan). He took us down to the 4th. Just about brought us back up. A FRT loss, a SVT win. All sounds pretty similar to the present day to me tbh. Possibly Neal left us with a few more saleable players.

Why did he then play him in that stupid cup at Lincoln on Tuesday? Surely if he’s carrying an injury and requires managing it then he shouldn’t have been playing that game - especially with a Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday sequence of league games after it.
  19. Trevor Morgan.
  20. Lydiate
  21. We gift goals at the back. Last time we got out of this division we had Wheater and Beevers - solid at this level and weighed in with double figures in goals between them.
  22. That was so poor. We’re getting the very basics wrong. Evatt overcomplicates things. He’s got himself caught up in a spaghetti of his own thinking. The one time we keep a clean sheet at Wycombe - with Forrester defending in the middle of a three rather than us trying to play out from defence like Beckenbauer - we change it. He did the same when Aimson came into that position last season and we had a very tight defence for a month. It’s Evatt’s unwillingness to learn, adapt and (at this level) keep things simple that will be his downfall.
  23. Pompey
  24. We need a different option up front than we currently have - somebody who can hold the ball up. We also need somebody in midfield who can run with the ball and offer something different (we’re not going to get another Maghoma but somebody who can provide a bit of the unexpected)
  25. Bit of grit for first time in a while. Not a lot of quality. Forrester was excellent
