  1. to be fair, some people didn't like the journalist, so, you know, shit happens.
  2. French one's a proper fighting song, slitting throats and all sorts in there. This is the translation of the chorus bit: Grab your weapons, citizens! Form your battalions! Let us march! Let us march! May impure blood Water our fields!
  3. I know he trained in Bolton for the 66 world cup. The "had heard" was a reference to a BEN headline / article when we were supposedly after him as manager 😁
  4. I've said it previously, but the congress vote (which would have won bigly anyway) is only the first step. Trump could still get it stopped by rallying senate to vote against it or simply not signing it if senate also passed the vote - although that wouldn't look good for him. Instead - as someone pointed out earlier, start a shit load of investigations and claim the files can't be released whilst investigations are ongoing. Bit of a cunt acting like a bit of a cunt shocker.
  5. and "nearly" Pele as manager 😁 in the 80s (he had heard of us, apparently)
  6. assuming it gets through the congress vote, it's still got to get through the senate. then Trump has to sign it. best outcome is it gets through both houses but he won't sign it.
  7. thought this back and forth would have more legs tbh
  8. that we all know who's doing it? 100%. It's Ilyad Akhtar, says at the top.
  9. Exam question You receive intelligence that a boat is suspected to be transporting illegal drugs. You have two options: Option 1: Intercept the boat and search for drugs, allowing you to a) assess the accuracy of your intelligence and make adjustments / improvements as necessary b) if drugs are found, assess and track quantities seized and interrogate culprits, potentially acquiring valuable intelligence to identify key players, routes, methods etc Option 2: Blow it out of the water, making a) and b) under option 1 impossible. Not really sure what Trump's game is here, because it doesn't appear to be the best option to limit the flow of drugs to the US. Maybe he's just trying to appeal to those who like to see shit blown up. Appears to be working.

  11. ran out of pies
  12. Not quite working for Dalby yet, but still seen enough to think he can be a big player for us. Plenty time for him to settle with Burstow doing well.
  13. there's been a match on tonight lads (in case you missed it)
  14. could have been double figures that
  15. Nowhere near our best, but could be 3 or 4 up. Hopefully a couple of quick goals to put it to bed, then we can give some of the kids a run out.
  16. Sent me down a nostalgia rabbit-hole did that. Too many gone, probably the most tragic tale being Chris Thompson, story here https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/10114335.lonely-death-ex-rovers-star-chris-thompson/. Decent interview with Mick Bennett here https://www.wolvesheroes.com/life-with-big-sam-and-onwards-out-east/ And one most folk have probably seen, interview with Paul Jones in the BEN https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/news/19674352.bolton-wanderers-legend-paul-jones-remembers-time-burnden-park/
  17. ever considered that the BBC is generally impartial and the bias is actually yours?
  18. Arsenal was £750k. At the same time Everton bid £600k. Pretty sure he was threatening to go on strike to force the Everton move through before he got injured. Remember at the time thinking what we could have done with that £750k. (in reality, probably two and a bit Len Cantellos)
  19. never heard of them, but just had a look at their website and they're affiliated.
  20. On the topic of beautiful British vets ... other than pricing, we've only ever had one uncomfortable experience. One of our cats took herself off after we'd moved house. Didn't see or hear of her for about 7 years until someone took her to the RSPCA as she was old and knackered by this stage. They scanned her and got in touch with us, so we were reunited for the end stages of her life. She was pretty fucked by this point - blind, scrawny as fuck but with a big swollen belly, pretty sure some form of cancer. We took her to the vets who suggested all sorts of scans and tests they could put her through (presumably to discover something they'd be able to do fuck all about anyway, at great cost and distress to the cat). I suggested it all seemed a bit drastic for a cat who was clearly coming to the end of life. Vet thought for a moment, agreed and suggested we move immediately to euthanasia. Not sure how she managed to pivot so quickly from 'spend-a-fortune-on-a-lost-cause' to 'let's kill her then', but she did. We took the more sensible option of taking her home and caring for her for her last couple of months until the inevitable end.
  21. very dog friendly here, so alright on that front. but spend a fortune on frog wheelchairs, so suppose it's not all sweetness and light.
  22. I didn't, you muppet. It was a review of a French vet.
  23. Vets in England are daylight robbery. One of the things that really stands out in France is how businesses like vets and garages are seen as part of the community (and dependent on local business). Plenty of examples, e.g. bloke at a local garage spent half an hour shuffling cars about so he could check a problem with ours, told us what the problem was but couldn't fix it, and refused to take any payment (we went back with some cakes the day after), vets removing ticks and refusing payment etc. Probably summed up well by a review we saw about a vet a while ago ... something along the lines of "don't use this vet, only cares about profit, not the animals or their owners". Think it's just a very different culture. Either way, nice to not feel like you're getting ripped off at every opportunity.
  24. the irony is you'll hear this line from folk planning to vote Reform.
  25. that's pretty much my review of the whole programme.
