wasn't even his type. She should be grateful.

mid 70s on the Embankment was self-policed. Any bad language near me or any other little uns and the blokes around us would have a word and it'd stop. for balance, there was probably more child abuse back then and no internet, so swings and roundabouts...

Think there have been glimmers to be fair, but I know I'm splitting hairs a bit. He was starting to look decent before his injury at Wigan. He looked good v Brum. He was probably pick of the crop first half v Orlando Pirates. Not much in 2 years, but I think there's a bit of talent there. Also think SS is giving him a last chance to see if he can actually bring it out of him. One of them where if he goes I won't be arsed, but if he stays I'll be optimistic we might finally get a run out of him. And more importantly, we need an actual transfer to stop me posting shite.

We were 'weak' last year because of how we were set up. Too slow and ponderous to break teams down but wide open on the break. We'll be a totally different beast this year. I know it's only pre-season and we're still short in a few positions, but already seeing really positive signs for me. I think we're on for a belter this season.

pretty much my view. Didn't see Tranmere obviously, but he's looked lively in other games. Probably the pick from the first half v Orlando Pirates.

Decent that. And another clean sheet. Building well, just need a couple more bodies in in key areas and we'll be raring to go. And anyone having a pop at an 18 year old who's filling in due to numbers ... Jesus wept.

Looking forward to seeing this team with a proper target man up top. Could be tasty.

Could get interesting this. Trump suing someone with deep enough pockets to fight it.

Reform manifesto now includes bigger common rooms and free A levels. They're a shoe-in.

Only turned on for pens. Fuck me they were gash ... exciting though to win it like that. But mainly, fuck me, they were gash.

but he did before 😁 Before my time, but my owd man always spoke highly of him. RIP

she also says she would have 100% supported him to the end of the season, that she feels responsible for failing to provide enough support to him (in terms of structure, workload, sporting director) etc. There's plenty there that sounds more like blaming Markham / the department / people around Evatt than saying she should have got rid sooner. But none of it matters now - he's gone. We can all move on with fresh optimism 😃

Interesting how we all interpret things differently. I took it as her pretty much defending Evatt and blaming others - the football department - for his failings. Also a bit uncomfortable on the club video when asked about the new manager coming in she gushed about how lucky we'd been to have had Evatt and now to have Harkin, but said next to nothing about SS. She doesn't say anywhere in either the club piece or BN interview that in hindsight Evatt should have gone after Wembley.

plus it's a long way from your house. don't know why you're even thinking about it.

must have worked though - zero turned up in dinghies from France last year.

Looked disciplined, well organised and purposeful with the ball. Pretty good for a pre-season friendly at this early stage.
