  1. Faye is a terrific shout absolute beast of a man.I preferred him in midfield after that magnificent performance against Arsenal but at the end of the day I accept Big Sam knew best and centre half must have been his best role.Of all Sammy Lee's dodgy transfer decisions choosing to let Faye go was the most incompetent.Gartside should have stepped in and had a word with Sammy to stop that imo.Gartside sacked Lee a few weeks later but the damage with Faye had already been done.Allardyce left Lee with Speed, Nolan and Faye for his midfield if he wanted it, its criminal how pisspoor our team was after the summer holidays and training with Sammy
  2. Al Habsi, will always be grateful for him keeping us up Megson's first season.
  3. Scott Green St, George EastHam and Gordon McQUEENS - for when they moved north of the river to lodge at Upton Park in the 90s
  4. I think Pablo should make the most of every moment under Martinez for the short time he'll be at Goodison. As Whelan said in the summer he is too good for Everton.
  5. Uncle Dave " "Sometimes you get lucky and get a great manager like Roberto, Sometimes you get a manager that doesn't get on with you, the players, the fans" Pauses, thinks about it "Owen was one " Wigan fan " Failure to realise that when we were doing shit under Martinez, he was still one of us, he didn't get too much flack from the stands because of that. When you're a full kit Bolton wanker with no clue, you'll get f all time, which is why he should never have been appointed in the first place. " Another Wigan fan " A guy nr the away end in the West stand shouted just before half time " taxi for Coyle , blue star are on their way" . Coyle mouthed back :- "f*** off", "
  6. Its sad times when Wigan are sacking a manager that's got more points than the one at Bolton. When did Wigan become a football club with higher expectations than Bolton?
  7. Bolton manager Gary Megson "There were a lot of harsh words said at half-time because that performance was not acceptable. "We've rested players midweek for this game and clearly it hasn't worked because we didn't turn up or start well. "We looked lethargic and leggy and weren't good enough and we are right in the cart.
  8. Aye, we had the occasional little purple patch under Megson but it never lasted very long. It's a fact that we lost 19 of our 38 league games in all 3 of the seasons Megson was at the club. The season Holden was carrying the team it was 9 defeats in 29 matches and a place in the FA Cup semis at the point Holden got maimed.
  9. The only time we got fantastic results in Muamba's career were the few months when Holden was carrying the midfield. The moment Holden was maimed the midfield went back to the pile of shit it was when Megson was sacked. And lets face it that midfield at Wembley with fantastic Fab at the heart of it was a pile of shit.It was an embarrassment.
  10. Disagree.I think the main reason we were 19th when Megson was sacked was because he had signed poor midfield players rather than they were good players being mismanaged.Coyle recognised the central midfield wasn't good enough and brought in Wilshire who kept us up.No Wilshire and we'd have gone down under either Megson or Coyle that season probably. For the £40 million Megson had spent his strongest central midfield pair when he was sacked was Muamba/Mark Davies with shite like Cohen and McCann as back up and the Muamba/Davies pairing wasn't good enough for the Premier League in my opinion.Coyle solved the midfield problem for a year with Wilshire and then Holden but couldn't replace Holden adequately and was left with the second rate Muamba/Mark Davies combo to struggle with..
  11. Seeing how you've given me free roof repairs and free investment advice i'll take the holiday as well!! Seriouly pal, chin up you won't be down for long.
  12. Early signs of what a great manager Sam was.Who'd have thought Bolton would do things the easy way and just control a Play off Final from start to finish? Preston never looked like scoring
  13. That'll be why Cardiff have asked the loan striker to return
  14. Tranmere was live on ITV, Villa was live on Sky, Swindon and Everton weren't live on TV.
  15. Phil Hughes, Lee Dixon and i think Andy Hill. August Bank Holiday when Bury came over and battered us
  16. We had the upper tier and sold out it would be 900 - 1,100. My over riding memory of the game is how we controlled the match especially the first half. Most of the game was played in Tottenham's half of the pitch at White Hart Lane.It was a great performance. The other thing that sticks out is how little Jaaskalainen had to do.The last quarter of an hour was Spurs pressing for an equaliser but Sam had us so well organised Jussi only had routine saves to make. And Spurs fans booing what they perceived as time wasting is another memory of the day.
  17. One of the less celebrated Big Sam glory days Henrik Pedersen scored the winner for Bolton on an emotional day at Spurs following the death of their legendary former manager Bill Nicholson. Bolton took a deserved early lead when Paul Robinson flapped at Gary Speed's free-kick and Rahdi Jaidi headed home. Spurs looked lethargic and offered little until just before the break, a passing move of rare quality ending with Robbie Keane firing the ball in. But Pedersen came off the bench to tap in a rebound to steal all three points. Tottenham: Robinson, Pamarot, Naybet, King, Gardner, Davies (Ziegler 80), Pedro Mendes, Redknapp (Davis 78), Jackson (Defoe 70), Kanoute, Keane. Subs Not Used: Keller, Brown. Goals: Keane 41. Bolton: Jaaskelainen, Hunt, Jaidi, N'Gotty, Gardner, Diouf (Hierro 81), Speed, Okocha, Nolan (Pedersen 72), Giannakopoulos, Davies. Subs Not Used: Poole, Ferdinand, Fadiga. Goals: Jaidi 11, Pedersen 75. Att: 36,025. I doubt we'll ever see a Bolton team as good as that again but it was magnificent while it lasted
  18. Yes I signed up for Profit Maximiser. There are more offers that aren't on Bonus Bagging.A spread betting offer pretty much guarantees a £200 profit although I was lucky and made over £400 with it. There is a good forum on PM with the latest offers.Paddy Power had a £50 free bet on the Villa Spurs game today which I made about £31 from. My profit from BB and PM together is over £1,000.
  19. Sam's the best thing that's happened to Bolton in half a century.Without Sam we'd never even have avoided relegation from the Premier League never mind qualified for Europe. We are lucky he gave us 6 years in the Premier League and turned down a payrise at Sunderland at one point. Megson was a 2nd Division manager given a Premier League job he wasn't up to.Any fucker could keep Sam's team up with £40 million to spend for a season or two.Bar Sammy Lee possibly
  20. Is Megson still boasting about how much money Bolton had to pay him to sack him?
  21. Agree with Marc Berlin is a great city. If you haven't done a concentration camp Sachsenhausen is right at the end of one of the Metro lines and then about a half mile walk. The Arbeit Macht Frei gate is still there.
  22. Maybe he had enough money not to be bothered then but needs some cash now? It's irrelevant guessing why the delay though, what matters is justice is done
  23. Al Habsi wouldn't need to buy the FA Cup winners medal, he has one.
  24. After doing that,I did the Ladbrokes risk free £10 offer and turned it into £22.Don't know if you guys who didn't make so much adopoted the slot playing strategy Mike suggested but it worked for me. I then joined a bingo site Mike suggests.Paid in £20 got a £50 bonus, played for an hour and now have £125 in the account although £69 of that must be played to meet bonus withdrawal requirements.Still, if i lose all £69 it will be £56 to withdraw from a £20 deposit. This wasn't a risk free £20 deposit, the reason for doing it is that after playing through the deposit there are some free offers which are apparantly worth chancing the deposit for. It seems there is another cash stream in the slots and games after utilising the football/horses risk free bets.
