I sat down with my little girl last night and explained as simple as I could why we have poppies. She’s 4 so it’s pretty much like talking to a cat, or my Nan. On the lines of it’s to remember people who have had to do things in the past so we can live in a happier world.
To be fair to her she listened, before she had to attend to a barbie emergency.
Then my Mrs showed a post on Facebook, and I don’t even want to describe it because it makes me cringe but it was a woman arms around her kids poppies on, Union Jack filter with the words, so grateful we beat Germany so my kids could live. Never Surendar (yes that was the spelling)
