  1. You could perhaps get a boat trip to Spinalonga from Elounda or Plaka, both scenic places. Enjoy.
  2. Travel expert indeed!
  3. I am.
  4. Are you still around on Sat? I am near Kolymbari.
  5. A bit drafty for all those cozzies in Balos today. Trust that you went in a 4x4. A few pre match Charma Pales getting us in the mood for ifollow. COYWM!
  6. We managed a car full from Kearsley as we were a top flight club and would easily turn the tie round...... What a slog. No M25 or M11 so M62 to A1 then cross country down Essex. Not much pub time and a lousy match. 'Highlights?' - one lad got a sting or bite up his trouser leg and we got a puncture on way back. Live and learn? No - about as much fun at Wycombe last Saturday.
  7. No need to look at the balls. Must have used the old Rugby League Challenge Trophy semi final draw trick of 2 warm balls and 2 cold ones to sort a Lancs v Yorks final.

    Pele

I am pretty sure that Boby is correct and the Brazil team stayed at Hale which is posh Altrincham. So donning my old bloke best route hat, I think that the team coach would have turned left from Bromwich Street onto Bradford Street and then up to Manchester Road near the Tec and thus passing Burnden Park and on to Moses Gate. On through Farnworth by Egerton Street (made one way street about this time) or Gladstone Road to reach Albert Road and straight to Walkden. ie old 42 bus service. The coach would pass Walkden HL Station on it's way to Worsley and the early but short section of motorway from there to Stretford. So white fans may have spotted the great man in very unlikely setting. I actually saw Pele at Bromwich Street which was quite a decent sent up - sadly to go the same way as most of the Embankment.
  9. Superb display by Reidy and co. but a bit hairy after full time. Managed to get to the Hatton Arms afterwards. Big pub on lights where A50 turns towards Burton. Place rammed with exuberant Whites. Watched the highlights show accompanied by Wemberlee singing. Slight downside was that I had parked in a side street near the ground and received a ticket for parking within 45ft of a road junction!
  10. There was a prison over the road from the Vetch Field.
  11. Elland Road?
  12. Motherwell?
  13. Does appear to be Chelsea. Stamford Bridge was also a dog track until 1970 ish.
  14. Looks like Peterborough.
  15. Ipswich and Wednesday are getting tipped to win League 1 by several posters but why? Ipswich appear to have come into some money and like us, their season got going in January. However they did not cause us much trouble and faded badly with only 6 points from last 6 games, not quite as good as our 14 points. Wednesday would be nothing without Barry Bannon and so one nasty tackle from finishing mid-table. Also, their financial situation remains dodgy at best. If IE can get us scoring against the shithouse teams and on shitty pitches then look no further than BWFC.
  16. Villa Park Euro 96? Some varied beverages on view - local offies running dry? Cointreau for the expert boozers.
  17. Sorry that you had another bad airport experience. However you probably have hit the nail on the head here. Shitty airlines, you know who, want every service on the cheap, tight arsed package tour operators who screw down the hotels and the coach firms lead to enforced 'rush hours'. The airport staff hanging around for hours then rushed off their feet are bound to be pissed off. Then if you need icing on the cake there is the French air traffic lot. Hope that you reach the stage when you can go mid week during school time when its all peaceful for £17.50 each way.
  18. Honorary Head of Marketing actually!
  19. Sorry MancW, but how can you rate Chania as utterly appalling? Travellers get a great service when passing through Chania. Its efficient, rapid and compact. All staff from security to catering are pleasant and helpful and baggage reclaim times are superb.
  20. Turf Moor? - good trip next season.
  21. West Brom looking towards Brum Rd end??
  22. Our Elias song 'Tequila' was recorded by The Champs. More than a coincidence?
  23. Hardly the best. On Bloomfield Road bridge over railways next to ground in 4ft high letters - "GREAO IS KING" Dyslexic or nervous?
  24. It was a Saturday teatime game for the telly. Against the odds, WHU had seen off Chelsea in the afternoon and the southern press were well pleased that their world cup winning darlings were staying up. Before our game Sky showed a pub full of lubricated Superwhites giving it all. The reporter pointed out that Bolton were still in defiant mood. We spent 90 mins plus biting our nails but the draw tipped the balance. End of highlighs on MOTD showed Bolton fans still in good voice and cameras homing in on two young lads from Farnworth/ Kearsley folk holding up BWFC flag.
  25. Biggish, I get that you may have had a bad day at the office. Wolves absolutely give it their best shot but we held tight and came home with a great chance to proceed and that is why the Wolves fans were pissed off. A few days later we were chatting to some Wolves lads in a bouncing General Havelock. They did not fancy their chances at all. We realised that the job was almost sorted. One of the best ever Burnden nights followed.
