  1. My happiest days were in the 70s I also think the 60s were the most creative within Britain Social media has made the world unhappy
  2. That's the usual downfall... I know a mob who had a visit after a (still unsolved) murder and the Bill lifted floorboards looking for weapons/evidence and found a cable which they followed....
  3. No Thanks But pissing myself 🙂
  4. Similar here, Dad drove a tank from Arromanche to the Elbe via Holland and Belgium then a Bolton bus (not much difference I suppose) and brought four of us up with very little. That is what being English means to me.
  5. What English songs are we going to sing on the day? My favourites are Jerusalem Greensleeves Barbara Allen
  6. The lass on the till might be your long lost crush. The far east look could be part Italian? I believe the Gizzis are a big family in Glasgow. I don't know who told me Dave had departed but he's not on Companies House any more, I'll phone my old mucker who's into fish keeping and still plays in bands, he'll fill me in.
  7. That's brought back memories... I can now see that Mynah Bird in my minds's eye next to the till among all the straw and smell of shit. There were half a dozen tanks on the left where I used to spend my pocket money.
  8. I thought Dave Gizzi had sold out and moved to Glasgow where there are a lot of Gizi family, also I was told he was no more which was sad. "Dirty" (not just about fish) Dave had a shop at the top end of Derby Street near Cambrain pop before he moved to Bradshaw, my first love had a Saturday job there bagging fish as her dad played in bands with Dave and his brother, they were all mixed up with Alvin Stardust and Showaddywaddy. I last heard that his brother (who was the drummer) had a business making fish tanks in Accrington. Dante Gizzi has fronted a Glasgow glam rock band called Gun for many years in the family tradition, not sure if he keeps fish.
  9. I love the hobby, I've been keeping fish since I was 12 years old when I got a small tank from Mittons Pet Shop. My favourite tank at the moment is a 40 litre cube in the dining room, low tech with no filter and breaking all the rules... substrate is John Innes No3 with horticultural grit and the plants are going mad. Nitrites have now gone away as the plants have got established so I'm off to look for a couple of Siamese Fighters this weekend. Hopefully some shrimps as well if the fish don't eat them. Also I really like my small shoal of Rummy Noses in my big bubbly tank in the living room with the Discus. The others are missing a lot of fun, I can turn my back on the TV and fish gaze any time. You are really lucky to have such soft water in Bolton, I have to filter the calcium out of my water over here using an RO unit.
  10. Wasn't she pitching for the business before her husband's company was registered... milking a gravy train I think
  11. What are you keeping? I could tell you some tales about Dave's Aquarium right from the Derby Street days
  12. Why have we had so many Foreign Secretaries in such a short period? Were we too busy concentrating on other things and Johnny Foreigner didn't matter any more? We really have become a nasty inward looking bunch in this Country
  13. Is Dirty Dave still going? Or Lilliput on Chorley Old Rd? Just go down and buy one. I have a few but I'm in Lincoln, I've started keeping Stendker Discus and they like it warm
  14. Coat hangers... work of the devil DPD/Amazon van drivers Passwords that are not "strong"v enough when I only want to buy a light bulb on line Mancs
  15. Could be worse, they might have to come to Dimron Towers 🙂 Unverified, we are in a Instagram and Twitter war so propaganda is rife. As I understand things a lot of people in the Mariupol region are ethnic Russian so might not have been forced. But it is the fog of information and war at the end of the day. What does concern me is if the Russians can say the area is cleared of civilians then it becomes a purely military target.
  16. This is the man desperate for an invite to the Emergency EU Summit next week so he can show off his diplomacy skills (such as insulting them regarding Brexit and the Ukraine) and promote his Global Britain. Rearrange the following words: Tosser Class Upper Complete and Elbow Arse His Know Not Does From His
  17. Travelling through Transylvania in 1974 on a rattling old train filled with Chickens and Romanians with a mate... heard a Bolton accent from the next compartment saying "... not a word of lie..."
  18. Sorry Mr Johnson but the only analogy I could possibly see would be in years to come when a sovereign independent Scotland is invaded by the UK to secure military bases after it applies to join the EU and the new European Army

  20. I'm sorry but I think he's a lightweight who has brought eastern Europe and possibly the rest of the world to the brink of war by his lack of diplomacy, disregard of recent history and focus on social media for his own gain, he has ignored the events right from the Orange Revolution in 2004. He has effectively taunted his neighbour who the biggest bully on the planet. Don't get me wrong, I am no fan of Putin but I would not never front him out the way this guy has by continually threatening to join NATO & EU and the like. He has pulled on the Big Bear's tail and now his electorate and country are suffering. Leaders have a primary responsibility to safeguard the security of their citizens above their own interests and in this respect I believe he has failed. He has been a major contributor to a massive shit show which somehow we, along with the rest of the world need to sort out and pretty sharpish as it is about to escalate big time. I fully expect to be shot down in flames over these comments but it is my opinion at the end of the day and I am willing to be corrected.
  21. As long as they don't want me to take them on some pilgrimage to Old Trafford. if they do they'll be out on the pavement
  22. Need to get your crease established now and it's yours
