  1. The fan's choice is "Super Kevin Phillipss'. With zero experience. Even suggesting Poyet returns with 'SKP' his announced deputy to take over in 18m. Some even fancy Roy Keane's return coz, apparently, "he's learnt his lesson & no longer has temper issues". As I said, deluded feckwits.
  2. Deservedly. Anyone who takes up the post of managing there is going to fail as their fans are deluded fecks. Add that to him being the most uninspiring, caution first, big boot neanderthal and it was a marriage made for divorce. It's a shame they didn't give him a bit longer to fail more completely.
  3. I went to Vale Park around 1972 to see the promotion team on their march. It was the match when a PV ballboy offered Byrom the ball, then threw it away ... leading to Byrom picking the little runt up by his throat. They had a wire fence AND a net to stop people chucking stuff. They also had some building work going on. We could have built a wall from the house bricks which made it through. We were escorted back to our, by now windowless, coach by cops who were less than friendly.
  4. I have a photo of the empty Embankment ... well half of it (the bit that was, generations later, to become the Normid) ... from probably the 50's & it's truly huge. I don't know how to post it here. If someone can give me instructions I'll put it on.
  5. Aren't they just. Lost their last 5 in tbe league, won in the pointless cup against L'pool U21's, lost at home to King's Lynn in the FACup. Blimey. Just to keep the theme going ... "we're going to fck this up, aren't we !" I really, really would love Tutte to be replaced by Darcy and make even the DM role one which adds to our attacking intent. I know he won't but that'd be quite a statement.
  6. I've obviously seen goals disallowed, I'm sure I've seen us have 2 disallowed though can't recall when. But 4. That's got to be a record.
  7. 9th with an extra game played then. I'm pleased we turned matters around as it'll influence our January options.
  8. I've just seen him, pre-kick off, looking like shite & carrying 2 boxes of dhiarrea tablets. I'd rather he didn't do anything so risky as bowing.
  9. Showing, very clearly, that Tutte has been the driver of our recent form ... & that White's not a patch on him. He's clearly learnt nothing watching how it should be done. Controversial maybe, but I'd consider putting Darcy there. He can tackle, he's quick and he has a good eye (& foot) for a pass.
  10. I've been on with 62,000 & 63,000. My memory is that it was claimed to be a 68,000 max. The Embankment 28,000, as stated above, also rings bells.
  11. We can't, Shirley, be debating whether or not Madonna wS a great player. But he was a moral vacuum both whilst a player and off field at that time & later. Too many people féted him and forgave him any misdemeanor when he might have benefited from firmer management. So, extremely talented, hugely flawed.
  12. OK, just another club's player now but I remain interested in the progress of a former player who I was extremely impressed with. Well, I say 'progress' but there's been none. Even in a pub league, even in the various cup competitions ... not one appearance in 18 months. Not even on the bench. Last night for example, 11 playing, 10 on the bench, not a sign of him. In pre-season he got a few run-outs, was highly praised and then .... nothing. He's fit, he's still saying positive things. Celtic are playing shite. Lennon is under fire. If not in the first 21 selections they could at least loan him out. Not to us, though I'd be delighted, we don't play our own wonder-kinder unless by accident & we're 4th Division currently. Maybe a lesson to players to be more selective where you go. Does anyone know anything more on what's going on ?
  13. He's had some geezer called Crellin on the bench whilst Gilks has played and put Alexander on the bench for the Newcastle U23's game. It was never logical or safe but I think he'd painted himself into a corner & too up himself to admit an error. He's still making "mark my words Billy is a top keeper" noises, which is scary. Hopefully, despite that, he'll return to Fleetwood on Jan 1 as we bring in a proper one who, surely to God is already lined up.
  14. Aaaah. So it's a pass, into a vacant space ? Why's it called a channel then ? Sometimes 'modern' ideas are just bullshit covered in glitter.
  15. Feelgood most certainly has. I watched my first match in 1963 so I long ago stopped assuming anything. Just as the garden is greenest in blow the weeds. Assuming the worst means what does happen in practice is either what you anticipated or a pleasant surprise.
  16. ???? Not one inch clearer about this 'channel'. Go on, for the thick &/or old ... what's a channel on a football pitch ? It's a genuine question.
  17. I agree with your point but, just so I fully understand, where exactly is this "channel" the pass went ?
  18. Played 13. W1 D2 L10 F6 Ag.26 We're going to fck this up aren't we !
  19. Cheating, lying, drug induced, alcoholic. Arrogant fckwit. Thick as a plank. If Femwick &/or Reid had done what they should have they'd haave clattered him & the "Goal of the Century" would never have happened. I accept nothing else.
  20. We didn't. They had ONE decent player, called Hulme. Scored 2. He ended up at Bury if I recall correctly. It was one of the very rare times my, not especially interested in football, kids came with me. It did nothing to alter that
  21. Ritson scored the first. I don't recall how, but happy to believe it was a free-kick. Jones the extra-time winner.
  22. v Spurs in a FA Cup replay Jan. 1978. It went to extra time and I was so cold I thought my feet would fall off. Won with a Gary Jones goal very late on. 31,000 on on a Tuesday night. Don't recall ever being so cold.
  23. To be fair, it's not hindsight to say we shouldn't be playing Crellin. It was almost sinful that we went into the season with our lead keeper a 20yr old loanee, Fleetwood's 3rd or 4th choice with only 6 months on loan at Div.5 Chorley, who were relegated, to his cv., an 18yr old & a 38yr old unfit guy who was really, by then, a coach. I'm unsure whether this was the fault of Evatt or the guy with the made up name and absolutely no history (try to search for him prior to him turning up at Macclesfield. There's nothing. Most of us could see this from the outset. Those willing to follow Evatt at the time presumed he was going to turn out to be a surprise gem. It didn't take even the most hopeful too long to realise how poor he is. Evatt held onto him a good 6 matches too late. We simply MUST have another, decent one, lined up for Day 1 of the new window
