  1. Unfortunately even in League 1 money talks, the majority of the teams above us will have spent more than us, and unless we spend & invest money on a few better / quality players IMO we will be in league 1 for a good few years, although we will play decent football. .
  2. We have a decent team now, however without a couple of quality additions before the summer window closes on Thurs (the quality of player that IE said he'd been offered after the villa game), this team isn't getting top 6 IMO, the position we are in now (10th) is about right for this team / squad. We need a pacy striker who is more clinical than what we currently have & I still think that we need a big, powerful box to box midfielder - but these would cost money and I doubt that FV have the finance. They also need to play with a little more intensity & move the ball quicker.
  3. Basically today we saw the standard that's required to be competing at the top of this league, and it highlighted that there is a still a decent gap in quality that we need to close, the reality is that we were outclassed by a much better team and if we don't bring in a couple of championship standard players in the next week or so, we'll finish in a similar position to last season. We will find out how serious FV are about promotion this season in the next 10 days.
  4. Yes agree Jones was very poor, another player who we need to improve on if we are to seriously challenge this season - steady player however he's nowhere near a top 6 league 1 player, Hopefully Toal takes his place ASAP.
  5. A little worrying for me today was the lack of intensity & quality from almost all the team, I thought Sheff Weds handled us quite easily without getting out of 2nd gear. If the board do back IE in the next 10 days or so and replace the likes of Bakayoko & Katchunga and look to bring in a decent DM to challenge Williams, I really do hope that they look at championship level players and not league 2 players who may improve in 1-2 years time. The likes of Ipswich & Sheff Weds sign proven championship level players, unfortunately we don't and I thought today it showed.
  6. Decent side Sheff Weds & a point would have been good today. It's only one poor result, therefore there is no need for any major over reaction, however unless we make 2 or 3 decent first team signings before the end of the month I feel that promotion will be beyond us this season as a few other teams have strengthened better than us. We are a decent side when teams let us play and definitely top 10 material, but for me we are not street wise enough & are a bit naive (both the team & the manager). It was a bit men against boys in the 2nd half at times, Santos was very poor & lazy but for me they all were (several looked un interested at times) - there needs to be some tough decisions in the next few days if the club is serious about wanting promotion this season, the likes of Bakayoko & Kachunga need to be replaced and we need another DM and pacy direct forward, it was a poor decision by IE to start Bakayoko today as he's a last 15-20 sub at best. We still need some pace, power & steel in the side as we have done for a few years under IE, the good thing is that the board & manager have time to do something about it.
  7. I think its Keith Morris the insurance millionaire (but I could be wrong ?), I'm sure that there is a photo just after the takeover of all 5 of them on the pitch (including Keith Morris & Nick Mason) at the stadium.
  8. He's already getting his money from a sold out away end, why should he get more from additional away fans paying on ifollow. I can understand his point if the away team doesn't sell out the full allocation, but when they do like we do then the ifollow money should go to the away team. If he wants more match day revenue then he should build a larger away end or give the away team more tickets.
  9. I agree with this, I think to be a top 6 side this season we still need a 'championship level' big strong leader type DM as we will probably still get bullied by quite a few teams in this league without one IMO, and need someone who will give it back when required.
  10. Handy lad is Dempsey, he may not be a 6ft plus enforcer type of midfielder but he's one of those who can hold his own.
  11. Yes she will have approved everything that Hart has implemented.
  12. Let's be honest it's just a job to him (Hart), he doesn't give a toss about BWFC on the pitch or the fans in the stands. In fact if he supports another NW club (such as Burnley, Blackburn ?), he's probably loving it coming out with these things knowing that he will piss some fans off. However things like this are the beginning of the end for any fans who go to the match with their mates to have a day out on the piss, support the team and have some banter with opposing fans & probably anyone who shows an iota of passion at games, its just the next step towards ultra sanitised, happy clapping, Fulham type crowds, sit on your hands, say nothing - but please shell out for next seasons ST's 6 months early. The club want your hard earned cash, but in return you can't move, speak, get out of your seat, swear, show passion and don't even think about winding up any opposition fans.
  13. This threat to close the IL1 & IL2 sections is a fcuking disgrace from BWFC - why not stop being so greedy and giving away fans such as S/land a 5k allocation, sell 500 or 1000 so less & put a decent section of empty seats between the ESL and the away fans & also perhaps improve the standard of stewarding. This only ever happens when they give away fans the whole end. If they shut IL1 & IL2 they may as well close the stadium as there will be no atmosphere at all (by the way I don't even sit in the ESL). The players must have loved the atmosphere & noise IL1 & IL2 created in the past few games - get a grip BWFC.
  14. Fcuking hell, worst missile throwing I've seen was Leeds at Burnden early 80's in the Burnden Paddock - half house bricks been thrown both ways almost all through the game. We took turns (the lads I was with) some watching the game, others watching the bricks - some really nasty head injuries in both ends that day.
  15. They can fcuk off next season if they think I'm renewing my ST. This membership and they way its been implemented by the Burnley fan is one major fcuk up & the club, FV, Sharon Brittan etc. don't give a toss about the impact is has on many lifelong fans, we are now not 20,30,40,50 year fans of BWFC we are just customers like someone going to a music concert.
  16. I'm a ST holder and have tried to buy 3 tickets today for relatives who normally come to 2 or 3 games a season and have been half a dozen times previously & fancied the game tomorrow but I couldn't buy additional tickets. Also I would have had to become a member to even see what seats were available on the website. It's possibly understandable with S/land selling out, but how the club can afford to miss out on this additional revenue & support is quite surprising - saying that perhaps they don't need it with this new tax payers money.
  17. Aye, what next people calling him a 'legend' !!
  18. Thomasson won't play much after January if the club brings in a couple of decent midfielders in this window. He has 'potential' and he's not a bad player but there are lots of players with similar attributes who don't make it, for me he needs a League 2 loan to prove himself & toughen up a bit. I will be very surprised however if he has a career at BWFC in League 1 or higher if we are lucky in a few years time. Same with Brockbank & young Senior.
  19. No I wasn't I was inferring that they didn't have better squads than us, as well as only being the size of some of Bolton's districts hence highlighting how shit we must be.
  20. Both are not much bigger than Farnworth or Horwich !
  21. Aye both Fleetwood & Accrington have far better squads than we have !, we must have double both clubs wage budget ?
  22. Good post, I can only assume that a lot of our fans expected a Fleetwood team who had not won in 11 games, lost 5-1 at the weekend and had as many injuries as us & played with several youngsters to beat us. That Bolton team tonight was good enough with the right attitude, intensity, desire, work rate & fight to have got something out of that game tonight. Talk about accepting mediocrity.
  23. It will be interesting if your still saying that should Dapo or Lee pick up a long term injury tonight. Remember Crawford in the City U21 game last season. It happens and it just isn't worth the risk because 1. The potential prize money isn't great & 2. A lot of fans don't give a shite & won't even if we got to the final, we would only take 15k max.
  24. Why are we that skint as a club that they will risk more injuries for around £100k (that's if we actually win the shite, tin pot cup). It's not just odd its stupid & un necessary.
  25. Its absolute madness, we have an 1/2 empty (on a good day) stadium and need to attract as many people as possible back attending matches, yet we have an arrogant, dismissive idiot (who seemingly knows better than us, because he's a CEO) who thinks that its a tiny minority encountering issues. What other business or businesses who are trying to attract the paying public to increase revenue, makes it as difficult as possible for people to pay £25-27 to watch a 90 min game of football & then completely ignore the public's issues & complaints when trying to pay for said events, then factor in that than this is football and many loyal long suffering BWFC fans who have supported the club for 30, 40, 50 years are being ignored & almost laughed at by a person (a extremely arrogant & out of touch person) who has only been here 5 mins & comes across like he doesn't even respect or care about the BWFC fan base. IMO he should apologise ASAP for being arrogant & dismissive of the issues that the fans have faced & if he won't then he should be dismissed, we don't need people like him around the club never mind being the CEO.
