Remember when mine were young and an advert on tv for insurance. It showed a father throwing his young son up in the air and when he came down, he was an adult. We laughed but it was true. It really does pass so quickly. Spend as much time as you can with them. Social media wasn’t a thing back then but I see people spending most of their time on it these days and talking about their kids. Talk and spend time with them instead. Social media will still be there when they’ve left.

I mentioned earlier about Derby not taking the knee and other clubs also. Its the taking of the knee that is divisive, no one can argue with that. I haven’t seen one racist comment on here, the mods would remove it. People insinuating others are racist is pathetic. The argument is how you show your support for anti hate. Racism, homophobia etc. etc. If the club decided on another method, same as Derby, surely no one could then argue with the message. Hate won’t win.

The worst downpour I ever saw was one Saturday in (I think) 1963. I know it was Saturday because I went for my usual walk down Cleggs Lane in Little Hulton to the pie shop for the family lunch before the wresting came on tv. The sky went as black as coal and then the heavens opened. Sheltered in the pie shop and watched Cleggs Lane become the Mississippi. Anyway, Greta’s Mum wasn’t even a twinkle in her grandads eye so not sure why she is relevant. I do believe in global warming though and I voted remain.

There lies the problem. Are the social media platforms recording the personal details of all users? In fact does WW? No one yet knows the details of the racial abuse. It could be some kid upset that we didn’t beat Burton or some serial racist. Take away the anonymity and take away the vast majority of online abuse.

It was at one of the Sportsman’s dinners (some ladies were present) that I first met Neil. Persuaded me to advertise on the site, which I did gladly and then met him on many other occasions. The dinners allowed many on here to actually meet fellow posters. Went to a few more after. Its a great idea.

You’ve dished out more abuse on here than anyone. Not seen any racist abuse but abuse it is. BWFC are asking the social media platforms to do more to weed out the abuse, racial, sexist, homophobic etc. etc. Anonymous accounts allow people to say whatever they want without retribution. Hate won’t win.
