Ronnie first up. I think he has his work cut out today. This lad looks very confident.

Faster cloths and humidified tables have really tilted the game in favour of the potters so the grinders have to be excellent to win games at the highest level now. See how Selby struggled to keep Brecel safe this week. There is nothing wrong with the rules.

They should play on a air hockey type table.

Would ruin the whole skill of snookers IMO. I love a frame won by getting two snookers, spirit of my dad at bar Lane and all that😀

I only really actually find it interesting when snookers are required, some of the shots they can pull off are incredible

Some snooker player (Shaun Murphy?) was saying he'd ban snookers.  So once a frame mathematically safe, end of frame.

but what would they call the game if they did that?

In black and white too.😊 Snooker took off when colour tv appeared for most in the late sixties early seventies.

I feel the same about motor racing, short versions of cricket to appeal to numpties with low attention span and American football but it’s each to their own.

Do they still a montage of funny shots the the tune of the entertainer at the end of each tournament?

That was always the best bit

Nope. Watched an arm wrestling video about a decade ago and one of the blokes' arms snapped. Ever since then, I can't even think about arm wrestling without feeling sick.

The cheating Chinese lads have just had their comeuppance.

Liang Wenbo banned for life, and Yan Bingtao 5 years, along with a load of others. Good riddance.

Silly boys throwing their careers away.

Bingtao could have been a world champion in the next five years. May never happen now. You can’t put a price on that.

Depends how much he made, and we'll never know. It maybe enough that he's happy enough now not to lift a snooker stock ever again

You don’t play snooker from the age of 8, travel to live in a country 5000 miles away at 18, not even speaking the language, just for money. Nearly all top sports people (especially individual events) are dedicated to being the best and money is secondary. Ronnie OSullivan has earned 13 million but people will only remember him for winning 7 world titles.
