Tbf though you probably wouldn't have. Correct.  For all the talk on here at the time, you never hear more than the odd muffled one.  Our players are still taking the knee before each game and getting warmly applauded for it.  There's a couple of blokes from Little Hulton in the North Lower, with a few teeth and fewer brain cells (yes, and he also claims to be a Liverpool supporter), that used to make a big show of turning their backs but even they've given up now.  I should have read your post further. Were you at his debut at Deepdale Road? I can still remember the "Sir Roger Hunt" banners. Is my memory playing tricks with me or did he score a hat trick? Could be confused as I definitely remember Franny Lee scoring a hat trick at Deepdale.

Franny Lee game was before the Roger Hunt debut. Can’t remember his name but it took about 10 coppers to eject one of our fans. The Hunt game was Boxing Day and we had more in their end with police surrounding Preston fans for their own protection- we won 4-1

Remember the fan ejection. He was stood near to me when he was hoisted out. He was more than a handful for the police. Didn’t know him but I think his name was Dennis and had red hair.

Think that was Denis Smith he liked to take on numbers , once rescued a few of us at Boro.

Saw him a good few years ago in WS upper.

Franny Lee hatrick game was 1967 .Sir Rogers debut later either 69 or 70.

Yep, Big Dennis I think we knew him as. Jumped on the pitch behind the goal celebrating. Coppers came rushing over and the next thing there were helmets flying everywhere and he had one in a headlock and another pinned to the floor by a foot to the throat. Eventful day all round - we had that bouncy end rocking so hard that the edges of the roof seemed to be moving about a yard!

Yes, we were in their Kop (and everywhere else) for Sir Rogers debut. An absolute walkover both on the pitch and on the terraces.

I think the deepdale Roger hunt game was my first ever away game . Watched from the paddock with my dad and next door neighbour. Though it was great seeing so many wanderers fans "away" .
