No wonder folk voted to 'take back control' its like the 60s issues in America - poor working class folks blaming other poor folks for the issues befallen them. What I saw today wasn't working class - it's under that, and that really needs to be addressed as a country, and stop blaming them for the situation they are in. Amen to that. All the foreigners fault though.

I couldn't wait to get back to London, but I'm naive and sheltered - unless we can sort out kids having kids because they have nothing else to do, we are buggered. The North had been left, I'd be angry, and I am, but I'm a middle class man who does ok - our country won't be OK until we realise that the North has been left to be a economic shitshow. Don't vote for any party unless they invest in the whole country- sod the South East. We are ok. Vote for your local MP who will work for you.

Ive been banging the drum about Blackpool and its investment for donkeys mate. The town probably generates more cash than any other town in England. Millions upon millions flock to the place every single year, the place is booming. ...all that cash leaves the town and never comes back and the only investment the town gets is stuff to bring more people to it. The people of Blackpool get left behind to pick up the scraps. Its like a fallen Christmas tree, sparkling with life and lights on the outisde. Slowly dying within.

July 13, 20233 yr Ended our at Our Wee Chippy which I hadn’t realise was literally 30 seconds drive. Got to love a chippy that does haggis. Will aim for the Cottage when I’m back with work again next month.

Some good pubs on whitegate drive including The Saddle which in the doomsday book!

Blackpool is where my dad's side of the family are from and I loved visiting nanna as a kid, she lived just off Harrowside in a quiet cul-de-sac near a park. Those were such happy days that they help when the black dog rears its ugly head, I look back to the good times to take the edge off, Blackpool is special to me. On Blackpool though, it has had such a decline it is going to take many more years of investment to properly get better which thankfully is coming. I noticed last time we went we couldn't get to the car park at Coral Island from the motorway anymore due to huge building works on a new complex near Coral Island.
July 14, 20233 yr Glad it stokes good memories pal. They're trying, Ill give them that. However they dont half waste time and money on stupid decisions. Stuff doomed to fail from the offset. Stuff you think, Im a dumbass vision technician and even I can see its just not going to work. The rejuvenation of Ceder and St John's Sq has been brilliant, as has the comedy carpet area. That daft spyglass building and other stuff not so. What they did at foxhall village and the new houses there looked brilliant when built. Now they look fucked, just poor design.

I was there a few weeks ago and noticed they’ve taken the traffic lights away from the promenade junction with New Boney Street outside Coral Island Amusements. What a fuck up that decision was unless they want to make crossing the road a little more difficult.

It says something that I've been up twice in the last six months because of the amount of stuff we've got going there from big musicals at the Winter Gardens to funded stuff at the Grand. I didn't realise that the WG only started putting on musicals again when the town lost out on the casino and they had to think about other ways to bring tourists in. Anyway its such a beautful space (the kitchen needs to match the surroundings though, got some noodle stuff that even I'd think was bland if I made it at home) Grand just got over 3 million over the next 4 years. Honestly, seems like there is a bit of change in the blackpool air (and its not the sweage from the sea)
