Saturdays without BWFC

@tomski said he was out on the ale train. How was that pal?

We met our eldest who’s at Liverpool JM and went to the markets - very nice 🍺

Had some shockers in the past filled with shopping and jobs.

Not keen usually, but enjoyed it today.

What have you all been up to?

Bristol this time next week. Learnt enough that BWFC doesn’t define the day, so will enjoy regardless. But COYWM, Tuesday and Saturday wins please 😊

Currently in wilde apartment in Manchester after seeing the script at the coop.

Wife's asleep and I'm watching Bolton videos from 1993 and reading wanderersways with a bottle of £7 peroni.

Come on you fuckin white men.

I did park run and then a 14k run in the afternoon.

picked my Santa suit up for todays big race and then spent the evening relaxing with Mrs e and the dogs enjoying a beer or two.

Was amazing mate. Apart from a jumper/threat of a jumper on the train. So we improvised a bit. Spent a lot of time in Hudd then Manchester. Sadly I really enjoyed my non wanderer Sat.

Wilde apartments are good. It’s my go to in London. I hope you enjoyed the videos.

The ‘alternative’ ale trail via Hebden Bridge and Sowerby Bridge on to Halifax is a cracker and not as busy as the main Stalybridge to Batley route.

My Saturday was spent watching Hibs win 3-0 at Motherwell. Given they’re even worse than BWFC at the minute, I’m hoping it’s a good omen ahead of the next few weeks!

Gave my Discus fish tank a big muck out and went out to play hard to get with the salesman at a caravan place

Loft was otherwise engaged so I spent my Saturday morning watching a bit of FAC football, and taking WtD for a walk and me and Wilf had a pint in the Hulton Arms.  Later on the dancing was on telly so I retired to the Little John for Guinness. Then the Chase was on so I had another.

When I saw this thread I remembered the days when there was the prospect of all Saturdays being without BWFC.

Therefore I take great pleasure in the fact that Kettering Town are beating Doncaster in the FAC. Long may it continue. The tinpot no marks wanted us closed down.

That'll teach her.

Spent yesterday trying to find a cheap campervan / motorhome to hire for a couple of weeks in June .

Today no peace at all kids and grandkids coming for tea.

Not missed football at all.

Never thought of that duel purpose dishcloth as well sorted!

Took my lad to Dog Bowl in Manchester. On the old arcades played FIFA 2013 as Bolton

Forgot how eclectic that team was.

The brilliance of Chung Yong Lee alongside the laziness of Chris Eagles, the terribleness of Marvin Sordell and the quality of Tim Ream. Topped off with pound for pound the worst player I’ve even seen in a Bolton shirt. Keith Andrew’s.

Can’t disagree there.

Didn’t realise until the other week when Brentford were on TV that he is their set-piece coach.

They were quite animated that he was openly practicing different corners in the warm-up in front of everybody, not knowing whether this was canny, foolish or a guise for what would really happen in the game.

… the money grabbing, useless twat 😊

Sordell came on for Kettering on the telly earlier

Keith Andrews epitomises that whole era.

That era nearly led to the death of our football club.

Eddie letting Phil spunk his cash like a pissed up fucker playing roulette chasing his losses.

Him, N'gog, Reo-coker etc etc. Inflated wages, agent kick backs and signing on fees, that debt going up and up and up.

Horrendous times.

This sounds like a piss take, but it’s not

I’d take Evatt’s rinse and repeat moments every day over some of that horrible, corrupt, over-spending and miss management nonsense that went on for a decade plus.

It’s gone full circle now where you feel you can’t mention “we nearly didn’t have a club”, as if it should be confined to history without repeat as we’ve had a number of years now and therefore shouldn’t be a L1 club, which translates to some as Evatt being the devil because he hasn’t got us up and somehow he’s held in worse opinion than some of those from the previous 14 years and a barrier to following the club as passionately as previously.

I’m still amazed, more on other social media outlets, than on here, that some talk about losing their passion, not being as interested and even considering not going while Evatt’s still here.

Crikey, I think some people are too young to have witnessed the 80s and/or have very short memories on some of the dirge and embarrassment we’ve been through in the past or have simply become snowflakes who can’t handle a bit of a hard time.

The Keith Andrews era was horrendous in so many ways, the most disinterested player I've had the misfortune to see in a white shirt.

In "defence" of N'Gog and Reo-Coker - without getting into their inflated wages or transfer fees - they looked like decent signings on the face of it, a young Liverpool striker that had played 60 odd games (he did show glimpses of class but yes what a disappointment).  And not saying NRC was worth whatever money was involved, but he was a tidy, hard tackling captain material midfielder, of the type we've lacked for ages.

It was the season after it got messy - Andrews, Beckford, Matt Mills, Benik Afobe, Sordell etc - heart ripped out of club.

God it was awful wasn’t it.

Some of those seasons in the 80s, Freedman, Lennon’s season finishing bottom, The strike season, Anderson years, some of the matches under Parky which were an horrific watch.

Makes our current situation seem like bliss 🤣.

It’s a good thread for this debate, because despite some of the crap we go through and despite some of us enjoying ourselves doing other things this Saturday, we shouldn’t let hard times, or our dislike for a manager stop us supporting our team and looking forward to the good times to come.

Andrews is the biggest cunt to have ever signed for us.

Closely followed by Moxey, the cunt.
