We subbed keepers at Tranmere when 2-1 up (Gavin Ward???) so he could get a league winners medal based on appearances. To be fair he couldn’t have done anything to stop the shot. A friend / acquaintance of mine played under Aldridge at Tranmere for a few years. His players thought he was as much of a git as everyone else. Essentially abused his players for 90 minutes to get the ‘best’ out of them. Most lads who played for Tranmere then did so because they’d head off to Dublin for the weekend after the Friday night home games.

At roughly this stage last season, Wycombe had a 5 point lead over Wrexham. By the end of the season they finished 8 points behind, a 13 point swing. Nothing is done yet. In fact there’s a quarter of the season left. On the 15th December, we were effectively level with Lincoln (would have gone ahead of them had we won the game in hand). So the current gap they’ve developed has happened over the last 12 games. With 13 to go, there’s no reason it can’t be over hauled. Of course, if your glass is half empty, you’ll believe it won’t happen. Personally, I think there’s a chance. But I think we’re competing who Stockport to catch them, so even if they are caught, no guarantees it’s us who wins that race.

I think Ghostbusters were busy

Honestly, no. Just re read and it sounds a bit ITK, which it wasn't meant to. The loose lips of the Evatt days are much less loose these days :-). If i was to guess though, Nombe makes complete sense for us. Proven at the level, hit the ground running, likely available at the right price and up front with Dalby would be a handful for any League One defence. Beyond that, haven't a clue. If i was betting, I'd also wager McAtee will go (on loan).

It's simply because the clubs won't release the players we want until the players they wan't are available. Schumacher knows this and isn't frustrated with 'higher ups'. Equally, money is a consideration but the club only scout players they believe to be within budget. We'll have 3 players in by deadline next week (I reckon one out too); people need to be patient. Priority right now is keeping the fit players we have fresh and available, and ideally 4-6 points from the next 2 games. Some breathing space then next week to tidy the squad.

I didn’t say we were hard done to. It was a simple observation about something that is one of many factors in the ultimate result of a football game.

Yesterday’s display was poor. And a massive factor in this was the number of games we’ve played compared to Orient. Burton played on Thursday and have two days extra rest. And they’ve played 5 games in 25 days compared to our 7. This will be a factor and the crowd need to be patient. Expect a few changes to freshen up. Possibly Dempsey, Sheehan and Forino in. We ‘should’ win but I think it’ll be another turgid 90 minutes.

His slice of what? Unless specifically part of his contract (which I highly doubt it is), him handing in a transfer request doesn’t really mean anything other than the club knowing he wants to leave.

Arrived back in Bolton early hours of Weds, day off, something of a recovery / light session day Thursday and today working on tactical plans based on this opponent. We DO need to score goals, but they'll have barely had any time on the training pitch. The reality of modern football. Will be the same after this weekend before next Tuesday (although Burton playing last night means they can likely do 2 days training before we play them.) How many goals teams score largely comes down to the quality of player and the ability of a coaching team to input certain patterns of play. That stuff is certainly up for judgement. Anyway, we'll score 3 tomorrow!

We weren't 'spooked' by admin. It ran over the hill, stopped at the top and shouted 'We are going into admin' about 50 times before it happened. There may well come a day where we need to seek new funding or literally live within our means, but the idea that players aren't being paid (trust me, the players would tell you much more quickly than a message board) is way wide of the mark. As has been mentioned, SB is less involved, and our CFO quietly left the club a few weeks ago (with no mention of it from the club) so there are changes at management level. That doesn't mean there's no money!
-
Don’t worry about that. They just all need fucking off. We’re only about 2 bad results away from suggestions that SS is having an affair with SB or NL.
-
Exactly. There's only 3 people who would realistically make this decision. The 2 of them and NL. The idea that anything would leak from them is fanciful. Plenty stuff got leaked under IE. These days hardly anything comes out. The way it should be

What’s your source for this information? Serious question. Have you heard it from someone on the inside, or have you simply heard a whisper from a friend and then reported it to everyone on here?
-
Experimental new formation? 🙂

Thought Cardiff looked a high level team at times, pressed us well and forced us to make rushed passes. But they were completely toothless. Not a single shot on target is just bizarre for a team that had so much possession. They’ll be up there come the end of the season, but certainly not a team that will run away with it. At the risk of sounding repetitive, we’ve played well all season and not always got what we’ve deserved. Whilst a draw would have been fair today, we were the team ‘looking’ to win it and SS deserves credit for that. Duberry is simply outstanding! Fully expect Brighton to leave him here all season, but he’s above this level! Beyond his obvious quality, his fitness is incredible! We’re so lucky to have him. And I’ll say again. This team will get promoted this season (Disclaimer: as long as Duberry stays with us and stays fit)
