It’s a good thread for this debate, because despite some of the crap we go through and despite some of us enjoying ourselves doing other things this Saturday, we shouldn’t let hard times, or our dislike for a manager stop us supporting our team and looking forward to the good times to come.

 

This season doesn't even come close on the list of shit seasons. We've had much worse malaises by a million miles.

Only these weirdos with some kind of mad vendetta against the manager thinks otherwise.

Since FV took over we've been on the crest of a wave. Promotion, play offs, two Wembley trips and a trophy/amazing day out.

Last minute winners all over the gaff, taking over places like Morecambe and Crewe, selling out every away end and 20k+ week in week out.

This is the first sign of adversity under FV and Evatts reign and we have goons refusing to go and getting the bedsheets out.

Fuckin pathetic.

Be pissed off by all means, moan on social media by all means, non of us are happy the way we've started the season or handle derby/big games, but fuck me it's been worse.

Much worse.

And it'll get better. We are on way back. Just not as smoothly and as quick as we'd all like.

Obviously it's nowhere near as bad as it was in those previous seasons mentioned, but we're just in a nothing season, despite having spent a fortune and having massive fan backing.

You can't blame people for getting disinterested and enjoying other stuff on their Saturdays.

They'll be here supporting long after Evatt is gone.

You've said it better than me. The 2010s madness felt exactly like what it was - mismanagement top to bottom.

Whereas this seems like everything is in place from board, finances, squad, fan base but we're allowing it to all be ruined by an over loyalty to one employee. That's what makes it all the more infuriating.

I don’t think anyone is saying fans can’t be pissed of at the moment, or not feel like it’s a Groundhog Day waiting for the next defeat in a big game, or feel like it’s time for a change.

No one is saying it’s all rosy in the garden.

Just that it’s been worse, far worse and we’ve stuck with it. Certainly not in the category of having a good Saturday and deciding you’re ditching it because you think the managers a wanker.

We need to beat Wigan in a couple of weeks time - it will buy him more credit than 2 or 3 wins against the shit teams could do. If we could put a few past them and give them a humiliation like we’ve been on the end of too many times then it might just give him the fan backing to take us to the end of the season with a fan base back on board.

I took the 2 year old to a nursery mate’s birthday party and then spent the afternoon with her in a different child’s play centre thing - turns out there is something more stressful than watching Bolton.

Saturday without football? Love 'em and I hate 'em in almost equal measures. It all depends on my mood. And that depends on how well, or bad, we're playing. Spent last weekend in Llanduno. It was strategically booked ages ago on the off chance of a FA Cup exit. Boom!

Bang on. There's a lot of entitled outrage about many of the younger fans of today, at all clubs. Some stuff I see on Twatter is laughable. There's no shades of grey or balance nowadays. 

I've seen us play in all four Divisions at least twice and this season is a fairly minor irritant compared to many that have gone before it

See, I'd say the negativity is coming from the manager with his pre game comments, blaming others post match, publicly thinking about his own future and having a go at the players, playing negatively against the bigger teams, not trying to get a second to beat 10 men away etc.

I'd absolutely love it if we had a manager energising the players and fans, rather than Evatt's negativity. He's changed in the last year and rather than coming across as confident, he looks like the pressure has got to him.

Think of the boost the fanbase could have with a new manager (if he's a good one). And we've seen it can be successful changing manager mid season - Sunderland, Oxford.... 😑

Are they though ? Stil averaging nigh on 20,000 in D3 just before the big con (I mean the big day).

I think people confuse the mad old world of social media and groups like that racists nonces and actual match going fans.

Bar 2 absolute dicks with signs and a few a booting off after Huddersfield and Stockport I don't think there's even been close to any kind of big shift or turn against the manager.

Not saying it isn't brewing like but folk were still singing his name after Blackpool and the first half at Cambridge.
