Why is everyone falling out after a draw away at Luton :D

Because it could and should have been a win.

Because we're all fans and everyone knows best and more than the manager

Three things:

1. Cheese, Casino and I are not usually singing off the same hymn sheet so grouping us together is a weird take on things IMO

2. Apologies if you aren’t capable of making sense of what I write, especially as English is my first language and I have an O Level in English 😀

3. As explained previously, constructive criticism is not a negative and bears no relationship to my level of optimism - every game I hope we turn in the kind of performance I know we are capable of if everyone plays well. Every game my glass starts off half full and occasionally it stays that way.

1   It was merely a view that all three of you talk broken biscuits....The fact that one of you is a  custard cream another a ginger snap and another a wafer does not change that

2 What has the Bronte Sisters to do with anything

3 As stated previously i respect your right to have a opinion though i rarely agree upon it

Spot on being thinking that for a while .

Ditto been calling for situational 433 for a while, I think Forss and Dalby who struggle in our version of 4231 would shine.

Wasn’t SS recently quoted in the BN as saying he won’t be changing the way we play? Whether that refers to the system or not is debatable but it gave me the impression he is intent on doing what we’re doing but better.

Do people actually think we spend 90 full minutes playing 4231 in a rigid formation in both attack and defence?

Pretty sure he was referring to the way he'll set us up against Bradford in tonights Vertu Trophy game. Meaning he might make plenty of changes to the starting 11, but he won't be changing the formation/style.

No the last two games he has changed to a 4/1/2/3....One holding midfielder and two Eights in front

Just a tweak on his normal set up. Dont think he trusts anyone in the ten.

Sooner rather than later he will go 4/3/3 Especially away from home.....All his data will tell him Burstow is being isolated and the penny will drop eventually

How would he switch to a 433? I've always thought the formation we're playing now, with 2 more attacking midfielders in front of a more defensive player was a midfield 3, so we're already playing it.

As opposed to having a 10 and two defensive midfielders in a 4231 as we played most of the season so far.

All this formation rubbish; it doesn’t matter as long as we win. Go 1-10 all out attack and defence as long as we score goals than the opposition

The system he has played in both games Bradford/Luton  he has Burstow alone and if i was nit picking is more a 4/1/2/2/1

Top and bottom of it if he keeps playing two wingers  Burstow will have to graft alone up front. Sooner or later he will put Forss beside him and Gale will get dropped and ACD will get a free run to play down both wings.

We are dominating games and yet we are not putting them to bed and this will carry on until he changes it.

It is just my opinion and nothing more

if we are playing with three upfront tell me why is Burstow isolated??

I think it’s debatable whether he is. And if he is, it is complex and will be down to a number of related/unrelated factors to the formation and tactics. Happy to expand, but it would only be my view from the stands perspective.

Out of interest… how do you play both wings? Cozier on the left and Duberry on the right?

I don’t disagree with the point around Burstow being isolated, but the idea that ACD can somehow switch from wing to wing and not have any impact on the defensive shape and set up is madness. For as long as ACD is so important to us, we’re playing wingers. We either figure out how the 10 gets closer to Burstow to help him, or we fix it in January. ACD doesn’t move from where he is. It’s akin to sticking Dapo at left wing back to fit a preferred system - your best players play in their best positions.

I think we largely dominated the Port Vale game, although we could have been losing early on, but other than that in recent times which games have we dominated?  Those 2 home games v Reading and Lincoln we played really well, dominated, created and missed loads of chances and only drew.

Since then I'd say we've won when we've deserved to (plus the bonus of ACD's last second worldy v Cardiff), drawn when we've deserved to draw and lost when we've been 2nd best.

The term "dominated" is very much open to interpretation.

Possession? Aye, well that alone hasn't proved to be the be all and end all.

Xg, shots on target, passing accurately yada yada.

Points on the board please.

ACD having a free role would not take away anything from his game. He would not need to work back as we would have that extra man in midfield. We play with two inverted wingers at present yet people come on here every week saying our wingers need to cross the ball and stop from cutting in and shooting. Is that not the whole point of having inverted wingers?????

you could just make up your own definition so that no one can ever be dominated

Also just gut instinct, the impression you take away from a game.  I felt we dominated a few home games this season, but none away other than maybe 1st half at Stockport and last hour at Huddersfield.  I've no stats whatsoever to back that up.  Likewise Luton probably dominated the 2nd half on Saturday but again no stats, just the feeling from a game and I didn't even watch that one!  Just going off reports and comments.

I'm just not sure when we're supposed to have dominated and not won, since August.

If the opposition had one kick in our half we didn't dominate.

Well, yes it is.

We dominated numerous games under Evatt. Possession, passing etc.

It worked at first, then didn't later.

So, in one sense nothing changed. We dominated.

We stopped picking up points though.
