Loan Watch

I try to keep tabs on the Bolton Players out on loan,

Aldershot - Charlie Warren and Sam Inwood: Inwood seems to have played every game for them, Warren has played 2 for them.

Rochdale - Broome, played 4 matches for them including an Assist at the weekend (if you haven't seen the goal it's ace)

Exeter - Have Gomes, who has been out with a muscle injury, managed about half hour across 3 games

Torquay - Currently have Sonny Sharples, he's made a few sub appearances but has been on the bench each match

Altrincham - Hutchinson seems to be the keeper of choice now, playing every available game for them.

Warrington Town - Had Mark Isong, he played 15 games, scoring 2, now at Atherton with Dalimore.

No details - Irwin, Lawrence, Weston, Eze,

Good point that.

Well, I guess we'll find out in the fullness of time.

My Mum/Grandparents lived in Whitesmocks and my auntie in Framwellgate Moor.  Spent loads of my first 20 odd years up there.

Loved that area and Durham generally, still visit whenever I can even though my relatives are long gone.

If my parents hadn't moved to the North West for work in the early 70s I'd be a Sunderland fan.

Some lovely places - and some not so - Pity Me is aptly named for example but the Durham Dales are stunning. Not been for about 12 months but will take a trip over this summer. Its a fucker of a long drive from here though!

A brace for Charlie Warren at Aldershot Town, today.

Thats five in seven appearances, now. Lad is a proper goal scorer.

He's playing on the wing too isn't he?

Jumped 3 leagues and still scoring.

Yes, but Aldershot seem to playing a slightly different version of our system. Formation is always given as 4-3-3, suggesting wide forwards, as opposed to wingers, and no number 10.

However, it’s the same inverted wide-men, with the left-footed Warren playing on the right side.

Both decent finishes

Well let’s hope it’s with us if the Shots do want to sign him permanently? Good to see young Inwood doing so well too, we have a couple of good ones there.

Sharples is st Spennymoor.

They're having a mare atm and judging by fan groups turning very toxic very quickly.

He's started 4 iirc but been subbed around 50-60 mins each game, picked up 2 bookings.

Why do we send our young players into struggling teams it surely can’t be good for their development? At least Shots had An experienced manager in John Coleman already picking things up when our two went there.

Probably can't be massively choosey as we'd been looking for a loan for him for months.

Also, struggling team = more chance of game time to prove yourself. Swings and roundabouts

Certainly builds character.

Maybe drives the player on to get to a higher level.

Could also reduce confidence of course.

No doubt the player and the club will be in frequent contact.

Their fans are saying the teams no fight.. ss has had 2 yellows so guessing he's one that does.

This one was an injury time equaliser at Tamworth, and is his sixth goal in eight appearances. Another recurring sentence. The lad is a serious goal scorer.

Having a look at the Aldershot forum, it,s interesting to see that they're obviously pleased with Warren but it's Inwood who was widely chosen as their MOTM.

It may be that Inwood is the next one to follow Conway into the 1st team squad.

I read the same, and it’s great to hear that Inwood is also delivering good performances.

i also saw the comment that this was probably Warren’s worst game for them, and he still came up with the vital goal. In other games, Warren has been given MOTM.

At the end of the day, I think we’ve got two youngsters who may make the step up, here. For that reason, I’m keeping a close eye on all Aldershot matches.

Inwood started again, Warren was absent..

Sonny Sharples was on the bench for Spennymoor.. not a great sign.

Big Dave on the bench for Accrington

  • 2 weeks later...

Abimbola scored for Accrington I see, I think that's his first for them, maybe even his first in professional football?

Inwood came off injured inside 30m. v Rochdale. Hopefully just a knock.

Joel Randall came off the bench for Blackpool, over the injury then

1-0 when Randall came on, at 75 minutes. Just over 10 minutes later, 4-0!

2-1 defeat for Aldershot at Forest Green. Goalscorer was Charlie Warren, of course.
