D There will always be ripples in every relationship. The relationship between the US and Israel will endure until the end of time. There are very obvious reasons for this.

Imagine saying that out loud and not taking a moment to ponder why it is that there is literally only you supporting them.

I'm not on Insta but apparently he is very highly recommended to follow.

I think his clip is not only brilliant but highly accurate in what he states.

They know why they support Israel, though

It's because it's in their national interest to do so

I would argue that is the historic reason and has not been the real reason for some time.

The historic reasons are summarised here -

Why is the US unequivocal in its support for Israel? | Israel-Palestine conflict News | Al Jazeera

Why the US continues to support Israel now is purely POLITICAL through the way the US fund raise for politians to be elected - the Political Action Committees

Political action committee - Wikipedia

The most relevant PAC to support Israel is the AIPAC.

I know people don't like me to post quotes but allow me to make just two which I believe to be highly relevant.

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) is an American pro-Israel lobbying group that advocates its policies to the legislative and executive branches of the United States. It is one of several pro-Israel lobbying organizations in the United States,[6] and has been called one of the most influential lobbying groups in the U.S

...reporting has found that its political spending has often supported efforts against candidates—mostly Democrats—considered "insufficiently supportive" of Israel. In the lead-up to the 2024 elections, The Guardian reported that AIPAC had recruited and supported challengers to candidates who had been critical of Israel's actions in the Gaza war.

AIPAC - Wikipedia

In short, it is American billionaires funding PAC's to elect their chosen politicians to do their bidding.

Trump is happy to go along with this because the same billionaires also fund him (and the Republican Party) through various other PAC's and why no Republicans are willing to speak out against Trump (or Israel) if they want to be elected (or re-elected).

Trump didn't need Israel for US national security in the region as can be evidenced by all the US bases they have in all the multiple Middle Eastern Countries, that in the two Iraq Wars, they had full support from the Arab countries and that he's shown in the current Iran War, that he can deploy a huge US military task force to anywhere in the world when needed.

It is a political choice to continue to support Israel (not a National Security one) and that has come about because the politicians have been effectively bought by billionaires who fund them to be elected (or re-elected).

We all know I'll never be able to please everyone, so there's no point me even trying to do so but now I that understand that a couple of paragraphs on a tab or laptop is equivalent to three hours scrolling on a smart phone, which most of you seem to view from, then I'll bear that in mind from now on.

Problem solved.

Liar.

Liar.

Not a liar at all Mr Fromage (sounds a bit like Farage doesn't it?)

I said I would bear it in mind and I did.

The post length would have been considerably longer if I hadn't.

Good day to you.

American politics is heavily influenced by a culture of lobbying and buying political influence so there's nothing new there

No other Middle Eastern country is capable of acting as the strategic intelligence asset Israel is and despite any financial or political advantanges that exist, the national security interest remains

Biden's administration was similarly supportive, though I suspect the coming generations' support will be decidely more lukewarm (to put it mildly), which is understandable

I might well be a saddo but I don't need to use AI for my reasoning.

Mate I know you are only trying to wind me up, so better I just step away from your game play.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

The US has countless intelligence bases throughout the Middle East (not including all the satellites and eavesdropping stuff) and the UAE and Bahrain seems to me to be very close confidants to the US these days - I refer you to the Abraham Accord from Trump's first term in office.

I would strongly doubt that any country would only use one source of strategic intelligence information exclusively ie Israel (but we are talking about Trump's US, I grant you).

It's somewhat irrelevant that Biden's administration was supportive to Israel as the PAC billionaire donors bought political influence in the Democratic Party as well, as per the reference to that end, in the first link I posted up above.

To my mind if the US billionaires were not pumping billions into the various Israel supporting PAC's, then Israel would not have been as high priority on Trump's agenda and the war against Iran that Israel wanted would have been unlikely to have happened.

The ensuing war was definitely not tied in anyway to US national security.

If you are not aware you may like to delve into the backgrounds of Witkoff and Kushner to understand why two non diplomats have been Trump's envoys to deal with both Israel and Russia,

No, I'm aware

I didn't claim they were throwing all their eggs in one basket with Israel but that no other Middle Eastern country can offer the kind of intelligence and surveillance in that region that Israel can

Trump led with his ego when backing the military action in Iran so in that sense he's gone further than the likes of Biden (or even Vance) would but the broad support for Israel from the US is because it's to their geopolitical advantage not because their politicians have been bought

There's also the presence of evangelical Christianity in the US and their view on Israel and biblical prophecy as part of the picture

Not that anyone would trust the IRGC, but they may have a point about Israel (& hence US) breaking the ceasefire terms by not stopping the Lebanon bombing.

As has often been said on here, conflict in the middle east in some shape or form will never end.

It's the others who are all stupid cunts if they can't see that Hezbollah and Iran need to be disabled to the maximum possible degree.

Religious - yes, political - probably, national defence - not at all.

Welcome to the new world.

Iran know they can do this as and when they want to now.

What a shitshow eh?

The point is that it's not a case of US support being a result of politicians being bought by billionaires

There are a host of reasons before getting to that, primarily the ones about the national interest

Well we've just enabled Iran. So good luck with that! 👍😁

So much winning

It's not for nothing that Trump sent out Vance to defend his deal
