If it's not all calmed down soon I am going to be seriously pissed off if which I know is being silly under the circumstances. It has ripped the arse out of the business. Those booked for the Middle East don't want to go Those booked for destinations using a Middle East carrier with a flight change in the ME don't want to go Those who don't grasp geography and think that Greece & Turkey are "close to the war zone" don't want to go. As for my regulars who've delayed booking until "it all blows over" are now finding that prices are much higher than last year, due to the rising cost of aviation fuel. Plus the cost of living isn't helping much. We've never been as quiet since COVID. Quote

I do get why folk are worried about a middle east transit though as your aren't covered by your insurance so it's a risk. Quote

Bertie Posted Monday at 06:47 Posted Monday at 06:47 Great summary of the evidence of Trump’s insider dealing we’ve mentioned on here several times. How the hell is he getting away with this? Helps I suppose when you’re bankrolled by the same tech and media moguls who are (probably) the ones making a killing from this. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cge0grppe3po Add to this the growth in wealth with Trump’s sons from government contracts, and the $6Bn investment fund his son-in-law Jared Kushner has raised from Middle East countries whilst on government business. Corruption and conflicts of interest in plain sight. Only in America. Quote

I retain hope and faith though (just) that (1) not as many UK voters are as gullible as US voters and also (2) there is still enough independent UK investigative journalism to call out the hypocrisy and lies of Reform/Restore. Got back from Thailand on Emirates on Saturday.. Only issue was the legs from MAN-DXB & DXB-MAN were supposed to be A380's, but changed to 777's so we didn't get the upper deck seats we'd paid extra for. On the way out, we got escorted out of Dubai Airport due to falling debris or something. 10 mins later, back in the terminal, on the plane and took off on time. People we were talking to had cancelled their Emirates flights in order to book with Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines and their flights were cancelled due to congestion in IST and Lufty pilots had gone on strike... Yeah we went with Lufthansa originally - but ended up coming back with Qatar (who were excellent) due to the strike. Currently trying to better understand how much I can screw Lufthansa for 😁 Were you over for Songkran as well then? Quote

It was utter carnage. decided to get the BTS to Sala Daeng to watch the display on Silom Rd and took 2.5hrs just to exit the station! No aircon, people collapsing, trampling over eachother. Once we got out of there it was great fun!! Quote
