I can only speak for myself, but I've waited a long time for these matches and I'm not going to let an extra £10 stop me having the memories they will create, and the anticipation & enjoyment of g

And as pointed out, even with the increases, still cheaper than a lot of L1 prices for this season. Our owners had held prices down commendably for a couple of years, so in real terms not a huge rise

  • it was a very sad day for me last week but I actually ended up agreeing with Martin Samuel on something. He referred to the ‘old days’ saying sometimes teams used to just have bad seasons. Then g

£40 is an horrific amount of money to watch Division 2 football.

Yes if it was £30 this season to watch the likes of Stockport, its going to be £40 for the true local derbies next season, in a higher division and with a bit of inflation thrown in.

On page 1 of this thread, the original link to S/T prices gave the phase 1 and 2 prices (purchased upto 1st May) but for phase 3 it said "pricing will be confirmed in due course".  I took this to mean pricing will be decided when we know what division we're in.  Clearly matchday prices will go up (if only to maximise revenue from some guaranteed away end sell outs) and that will drive the price of S/Ts.

Ah yes, right you are. Hope whoever was swayed by the play offs win acted fast before the seat swap window then!

Tbf we've sold 95%+ of all season tickets in phases 1 and 2.

There have been no sales after 1st May (except maybe this weekend?).

It stated that sales would be frozen until our division was confirmed, and with no sales during the seat swap last week, its a month of not being able to buy.

Relative to other forms of entertainment, I think it stands up quite well.

Remember, the Championship is the 5th biggest league in Europe. Many Championship teams would be competitive in ANY other European top division.

I’m out at that price.

I’ll do Blackburn local but have much preferred the games further a field for a while now. In for all midweek away again.

Around 16,300 now - more than last year and about 100 shy of the post premier league high (in 2023-24). Hopefully at least 17k come start of the season? I can see half the SSL permanently being for home fans this season, meaning away fans capped at ~3800?

Can’t beat a bit of close season attendnoncery.

It'll be done on a game-by-game basis to maximise revenue, I'd expect

I preferred it when we had 11 or 12k on. Each to their own and all that

Not a patch on Burnden when anything over 7k was a "big" crowd and a guaranteed atmosphere.

Know what you mean. My gripe in the ESL is all the ST “no shows”, so even when there are no tickets available on certain match days there are still plenty of spaces. Never fully full and hence atmosphere rarely top drawer.

For a big match of say 24k on, if there are maybe 1k no-shows, its not going to affect the atmosphere from being great to not being great.

Less than 23k on v Bradford and I'd say the atmosphere was as good as we can get, a couple of extra thousand turning up wouldn't have made a huge difference. Its more about the attitude of the fans that turn up than the size of crowd. It will be buzzing next season for 90% of games we're playing well or leading in.
