meanderson93 Posted February 3 Posted February 3 I tried to find another threat to try and hijack but unfortunately couldn't. I'm just after some advice really if anyone is more knowledgeable than me on fighting these things, but I parked in an ECP in Manchester back in September, I paid for the parking on an app but unfortunately it had an old reg saved and I didn't notice. So I've paid for the amount of time I was there but just for the wrong vehicle. Annoyingly around that time I was in the process of moving so all of the letters have been going to my old address so I've only this week received the correspondence from the parking company and ensuing debt collectors. Who have since rejected my appeal as apparently I'm now outside of that arbitrary window. Would anyone know what my next steps are or should be? Do I just wait for court stuff to arrive or have I got other avenues of appeals and complaints before then? Quote

You can go above them but imagine you will need to prove you had changed car recently and details of your house move Quote
gonzo Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Aye think once you're out of the appeal time frame they sell the debt on to proper debt folk who can place you under a CCJ. I know it's too late for you but that's why all that stuff about Just ignore the fines they don't have the power is complete bollocks. If it did go to court you'd probably win but you'd already be issued a CCJ that then gets rescinded but I'm sure like a no fault accident with car insurance it still gets logged with creditors... I'd speak to a solicitor pal Quote
Dimron Posted February 3 Posted February 3 How much you in for? Somone I know picked up a ccj for parking and their new mortgage almost fell through so better get it sorted. Quote
Not in Crawley Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Something similar happened to my mate for the dartford crossing. He went over thought he enough money but was short and had moved house. Missed all the letters and got an insane fine. Quote
green genie Posted February 3 Posted February 3 https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/private-parking-tickets/ Template defence documents on forum below. Quick search will show similar issues to yours https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/categories/parking-tickets-fines-parking If get a notice of a CCJ make sure get appeal in hard copy back in time. The online appeal site is shite and doesn’t allow you to upload evidence. Quote
