Whites Away - Pre season tour 26/27

I’ve never really bothered with pre season games abroad that much but, still on the high from Wembley, I’m popping to Slovakia with lad & dad on 17th July to watch us play (as we’re away for all other friendlies)

Theres an official thing with destinology but i’m booking our own route.

For those thinking of heading over, it’s worth noting that Dunajská, where the game is at, is about 2 hours away from Bratislava on the train. Hotels in Dunajska are cheap as chips (£90 for a triple room with breakfast) for the day of the game on the 17th & saves the hassle of getting back to the capital after the game.

  • Thought Richard Taylor looked assured & composed at the back (Would be gutted if an SPL team swooped in for him this summer) Randall looked stronger on the ball & more robust (Would be sad if

  • It's a kick about FFS. DAC are on their 6th game

bollocks.

lovely 3rd goal. But after just watching a World Cup, watching us v Oldham is like watching a different sport. So slow. Everyone looked like they were running in treacle!

From what I saw from the highlights, very untidy in possession which you would expect to improve and end product by the wide players needs to be better. Kicking the ball into an empty space then moaning nobody’s on the end of it.

Noticed from the game it seemed like Gale was cutting in less, and seemed to be getting to the byline more, i wonder if this is going to be more of a focus this season. Delivery was often quite poor though, along with people often not being in the box.

If we're going to do this i think we need a poacher and a proper postman.

He went both ways TBF. But no end product (as per). He was a bit off whether he was cutting in and firing high and wide or going on the outside with an average ball across.

Probably being a bit harsh, as he was lively and looked dangerous, but I kept trying to picture him taking on Trippier in the same way and I just wasn’t seeing it 🤣

Stephenson’s crosses in, looked consistently good yesterday.

If he’d have had ACD in front of him I think it would have looked very exciting.

It wasn’t quite the same with Warren there.

Just take the fact that it was Oldham out of the equation a moment, the forward position on the right was the biggest chasm of quality from the team I last saw to that team yesterday. Warren followed by Randall 🤣

IMO, that is the priority position. Hoping it may well be sorted with this Spanish fella.

You will have watched much more world cup action than me, as much of what I saw was like technical, walking football.

Heat a factor of course, but plenty of dull stuff too.

Bit harsh comparing a friendly, pre-season with top-level (sometimes), fully fit teams in a world cup.

Over the years I've concluded that watching pre-season games is a dangerous past time in terms of setting up fans' hopes and fears for the forthcoming season.

The fact that Richard Taylor got zero minutes is very telling

He wont be near the 1st xi , was poor at best in league 1.

Anyone know if tomorrow’s game will be online anywhere? Currently away with my boys and they’re desperate to watch.

Cheers
