I’ve never really bothered with pre season games abroad that much but, still on the high from Wembley, I’m popping to Slovakia with lad & dad on 17th July to watch us play (as we’re away for all other friendlies)

Theres an official thing with destinology but i’m booking our own route.

For those thinking of heading over, it’s worth noting that Dunajská, where the game is at, is about 2 hours away from Bratislava on the train. Hotels in Dunajska are cheap as chips (£90 for a triple room with breakfast) for the day of the game on the 17th & saves the hassle of getting back to the capital after the game.

Interesting to hear, though probably not surprising, Schuey confirm both ins and outs next week so hopefully that means deals are already lined up? I’m hoping Kenny is one of them and maybe some news on ACD?

Rodrigues class and has a nasty streak which i like in a 10.... Another dozen over both halfs steady and still rusty they will get better another 4/5 awful because they are just not up to the Standard and need gone asap

Ritchie for one like a new signing and should be in the first team squad this coming season

I'd love to see Ritchie and Warren around the squad this season.

Before anyone jumps on that I'm not saying they'll start or even be in the Matchday 18 every week. But we can have a squad of 25 and noises coming from the club is that we don't want as big a senior squad as last season where we regularly had 4-5 senior players missing the bench. If that's replaced with the likes of Ritchie and Warren who could come in when there's injuries/suspensions, cup games, or they've played well enough from their chances to force their way in then great.

Too many are quick to dismiss youth players

We need four or five out because they need new starts elsewhere they are frightened to death once they put the shirt on

Warren was good in the last preseason until his injury, never got a lookin after that and went out on loan.

Looks like its been a good trip all round this Slovakia do, fans have enjoyed it, staff seem impressed.

Wonder if we'll go again next season.

The joy of no BSM cup this season is probably a blow for the prospects of the fringe players. No illusion of the likes of Warren, Taylor and Randall having some involvement around the 1st team. And no FA Cup first 2 rounds either. No meaningless or piss easy games means we don't need an inflated squad, if you can't play in the championship there is no point being here. Last season we'd played 7 such games by early December, a game every 2 or 3 weeks. They'll be wasting their season if they hang around because there's next to no chance they'll get on the pitch in the championship without at least proving themselves lower down the EFL first.

I get that argument, but you need a squad of 22 realistically (25 seems crazy) but anything above 18 and they aren't going to be chosen anyway, unless there's injuries or suspensions.

As stated the feeling is the squad was too big last season so I can see a smaller squad with those added being the way we go. And they have an opportunity to prove their worth around the first team rather than us constantly saying youth is for the lower leagues.

You will need 19 players for every match day squad to fill the bench next season Saturday and Tuesday then injures / suspensions cup games a squad anything below 20 plus players your looking at filling the bench with kids at some point 18 is nonsense

He finished last season well, and sounds like he’s starting this preseason well. Only a year left on his contract I think, so if he does well early doors in the league hopefully we can give him tied up on an extension.
