There is a great interview with Darren on the coach to Mansfield before a 0-4 defeat which ended a long unbeaten run in the ealry 90s.

Dave "How are you Darren"

Darren "Im going in hospital next week"

Dave " What are you having done?

Darren "My bottom"

Dave laughing "oh yes he having his piles done!"

I've got the Phoenix Nights videos but have more laughs watching some of the roadrunner videos.

I've just pissed my knickers!

Bloody eck, just shown him on Granada Reports at the back end of the News At Ten. Sam commenting and a few clips of Dave. Including calling George Courtney a pig!!

As we know details about tributes to my dad from the Reebok we will let you know but at the mo it is a little quiet from the club as we are awaiting responses from them.

His funeral is at Overdale crematorium on Thursday 10th March at 10am and we will be going past the Reebok en route and are asking any fans who want to attend not to wear black but wear their Footy shirts!

BWFC requesting anecdotes and tributes be emailed to the club

LATEST FROM THE REEBOK STADIUM

Wanted: Your Memories Of Wanderers Superfan

BOLTON WANDERERS Football Club would like to hear about your memories of legendary Wanderers fan Dave Higson, who sadly passed away earlier this week. As everybody connected with the football club knows, Dave was a superfan in every sense of the word, and the football club would like to remember him in a special way.

We'd like supporters who've got a tale to tell about Dave to email us with a message that we can publish in our matchday programme ahead of our FA Cup quarter-final clash against Arsenal on Saturday 12th March.

Whether it be a humorous anecdote from one of his legendary commentaries or a message of condolence, we'd like you to email feedback@bwfc.co.uk

Some amature Cup Final played at Burnden, interviewing the winning goal scorer for Marine.....

Dave............... "That the best goal you scored son"??

Marine player... "Err it's the only goal I have ever scored"

Dave ..............."Yeah, yeah I know that, but was it the best"

Marine player ....Stunned silence.......

Just like to add my condolences.

Remember seeing him with his stick, after being ill (stroke?)

Looked terrible, but couldn't keep away- the measure of a REAL FAN

God Bless

Boys, get back to the original thread.....

spoke to him last Sunday up at Newcastle when we were on stair flight 17 of 126...remember thinking how long it would take him to get down these stairs, as he did struggle after his stroke....he was slagging JJ off incidently...never frightened to say what he thought...a true gent.

I have spoken to my family and they would gladly like you to go ahead with your plans.

Hi Neil

I forgot to mention that wanderes are doing things to remember my dad and they have now been finalised between them and my family.

In my last email I forgot to say that we have requested for any donations to go to the BWDSA (Disabled Supporters) or The Scout Association. Is it possible for any proceeds from the T-shirts to go to the above charities please?

All things are being posted on the BWFC website on Monday. As there are a few things happening.

ahhhhhhhh.

i am also DIVORCED from the person i was in Tenerife with.

As everyones says on here Fiona I appreciate how much you will be missing your dad at the moment, but hopefully the fact he meant so much to so many people and bought so much genuine joy to people is making things slightly easier.

Our thoughts are with you and your family.

Watched a couple of games with him on top of manny rd stand, I worked with jimmy goodinsons brother who did camera behind goal. R.I P.

Is my memory deceiving me or did he do the last game at Burnden, and the crown sang "Higson, Higson give us a wave"?

Torquay Sherpa Van Trophy Final -

A nice touch the Bolton players going over to the disabled supporters - or invalids so to speak.
