It has already been suggested to the club.

Missing my point HW.

She's asking for an official one.

I'm suggesting, that should the club refuse the idea, which I think they will, it will go ahead regardless.

This would therefore be unnoficial

I think they'll have an official minute's silence - he was known to everyone at the club, and they'll want to do their bit.

They might fcuk the tickets up, but this is more important.

a sad day indeed, but dave will be spoken about for many years to come.

each time a ding dong do,lancashire hot pot etc is mentioned higgy will be remembered =D> =D>

Idea for t-shirt. Proceeds to DH family or chosen charity. Hence Happy wanting to know contact details for his family. Wouldn't want to do this without their approval.

Would anyone be interested? Hopefully a collaboration between myself, Happy and BWFCUK.

The great thing is everybody has their own favourite story about Dave Higson.

My fave is definitely "The police are acting like animals.............pigs so to speak"

He had so many one liners that you could probably do a small book of his footballing quotes.

It's sad that in the space of a couple of months that Bolton has lost two of it's favourite and most loved characters, the likes of who will probably never be seen again (t'other one being Fred Dibnah of course).

How many people up and down the country who have been watching "Max n Paddy" and are now quoting "Ding Dong Do" actually know where it came from?

what is BWFCUK?

Can someone post Browny's artical please , I cant be arsed to register

Great guy and epitomised the attitude of the hardcore fans that saw us through the dark days that was the Phil Neal era.

I don't mind saying that he was far more loyal than I have been or intend to be. There is simply no way I would devote that amount of time to BWFC. Passion, pure passion compare this to the BWFC of today and you realise the loss that such people will to be our club. God forbid somebody stand up at a home game or swear, be audacious enough to do so and you face the wrath of a steward who acts like a brown shirted Nazi from 1930's Germany.

He was in the Dancers the last time I was home, hard to believe really. Sad, very sad.

Only just been able to log on due to working from home, it may have been said already, but one of my favorite lines was (I think) Richard Sneekes scores............ what a goal, what player, what a man, what a Dutchman!

Browny Pays Tribute To Legendary Wanderers Fan

PHIL BROWN paid his own personal tribute to legendary Bolton Wanderers fan Dave Higson who sadly passed away this week.

The Wanderers Assistant Manager was first introduced to Dave in the late 1980s when he played for the club - and instantly took a shine to him. Brown said: "He was a fantastic character and it was a shock to my system when I found out that Dave had passed on. "All our condolences go to the rest of his family and he will be sorely missed. I always liked to see him and he always had a handshake, a smile and a story for you.

"The best story I can remember where Dave was concerned was when I was having a hard time playing under Phil Neal. I asked if I could put my game right by playing in the reserves and we played Aston Villa reserves at Burnden Park. It was one of those Tuesday night games and there was nothing much about the game apart from the fact that Villa sent down a fair old team. It was going to be a good test of character especially for the younger lads. I came out, as normal, five minutes before the game and Dave was up in the stands announcing the team. He got to number five and it was Ugo Ehiogu. "I heard this noise coming from the stand. ''Number five &U&Ug& I'm sorry cock I cannot pronounce your name but all the best anyway!'

"It had me on my knees laughing. I couldn't believe it. From that day onwards I made sure I found out who Dave Higson was and the rest is legendary to say the least."He was very enthusiastic in his commentaries and you knew that whoever was behind that microphone put his heart and soul into it. He came out with some statements that had you on your knees laughing. He was the voice of Bolton Wanderers.

"He will be sadly missed."

Don't think I can add much more that has not already been said about this man.

I never knew Dave personally but the passion for BWFC, his wit and his Bolton accent made the videos worth watching time and time again (no matter how bad the game was!).

RIP DAVE

ASKING A BALLBOY IN THE TUNNEL AT BURNDEN - CAN YOU CONFIRM THAT WE,VE SIGNED SAMMY LEE ? GENIUS.

if any one wants to put his hame forward for that big trophy statue thing near the reebok details below!!!

CALLING ALL SPORTS CLUBS AND SCHOOLS ???

GET YOUR NOMINATIONS IN FOR THE SPIRIT OF SPORT

There???s still time to submit the names of Bolton???s sporting heroes for the iconic Spirit of Sport sculpture which is to be erected near the Reebok Stadium. Nominations will be accepted until the 11th March 2005 to give sports clubs, teams and organisations more time to finalise their ideas.

The 30 metre ???trophy??? shaped structure will feature nearly 1,000 mirrored photo-etchings on its outer surface of people who have made an outstanding contribution to sport in Bolton.

Nominees could be sportsmen and women, groundskeepers, coaches, referees, founder members and sponsors or support staff. They could be sporting icons from the past or even youngsters who are already showing promise or commitment or anybody who has contributed positively to sport in Bolton. It is hoped that as many different sports as possible will be represented.

The Spirit of Sport is a public art project which is being jointly funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the Northwest Regional Development Agency and managed by Bolton Council.

It will be erected on the De Havilland Way roundabout near the Reebok Stadium and is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.

Schools, clubs and organisations have received nomination forms from the Council and have until March 11th to return them by. Individuals have had their say through the ???People???s Choice??? feature in the Bolton Evening News.

For further information contact: Nicola Robinson of the Council???s Regeneration and Economic Development Division on 01204 336261 or Paul Round of Bolton Council???s Health, Sport and Inclusion team on 01204 333088

Remember going to Burnden watching the away game videos on a Monday night late 80's with Dave's commentaries - a class night was always had.

The bloke was a legend.

A sad, sad day.

RIP

I worked with DH for many years at Aerospace and I feel saddened by his demise. And would like to add my own story to the collection.

It was a horrible, wet and cold night at the old Burnden. Some mates and myself were watching a very average reserve match. So at half time we were walking out and going to the pub. Dave came rushing up the stairs murmuring "What score is it lads? The missus said if I came tonight she would divorce me, so I compromised and came at half-time!!!"

RIP

he's avin a crack!

yyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!

Complete shame

Wigan away Roadrunner Video, wanderers 3-1 win. Was I think his first ever commentary.

"Ohh and the Bobbies are steaming in.."

=D> =D> =D>

The 80's were sh??te for BWFC until this man took to the microphone

RIP Dave.

Sadly missed by all.

The club should name dave higson in the squad list for next season. Poole is likely to be fecked off.

Jussi will keep his normal number

no1 dave higson

higgy just got a mention on granada reports.seems flags will be at half mast for arsenal game.he should then get a mention on national tele =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

There is a great interview with Darren on the coach to Mansfield before a 0-4 defeat which ended a long unbeaten run in the ealry 90s.

Dave "How are you Darren"

Darren "Im going in hospital next week"

Dave " What are you having done?

Darren "My bottom"

Dave laughing "oh yes he having his piles done!"

I've got the Phoenix Nights videos but have more laughs watching some of the roadrunner videos.
