captainmed Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 I am becoming increasingly angry/frustrated/disillusioned/pitiful of people who keep coming on here moaning about UEFA AWAY tickets/allocations/distribution/timescales/criteria etc...and blaming the ticket office. FFS get a life. We are watching Bolton NOT Real Madrid. We can only muster 500 ish for Istanbul. It is the UEFA cup not the Champions League. 99.9% of grounds will not sell out. 99.9% of the time tickets will be available on the day for peanuts. 99.9% of teams in europe dod not give a shit about BWFC. Every time we have an away game its the same old story. If you want a ticket that badly you would have a stub from every away league game and that would guarantee you one. Do you really think that Guimaeres will be a sell out? We will take an absolute maximum of 1500 with Xmas around the corner. I hate to think what it will be like if we get to the semis or finals.
jules_darby Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 I agree with those sentiments to a degree, but the complete Carling cup fiasco added to the lack of communication by the club over UEFA away tickets leaves folk at best uneasy and at worst throughly p??ssed off. It's like how Diouf will never get a penalty again; once branded it's difficult to shake a tag off.
exiledwhite2 Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 I think we'll have more than 1500, I really do. And WILL tickets be available on the day? And shouldn't we expect the club to sort it out so we're not travelling to Portugal ticketless, for a match that will have 15,000 spare seats, anyway?
Supersyd Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 NEWS REGARDING TICKET ALLOCATION FOR FUTURE AWAY GAMES IN TONIGHTS BEN "Following numerous complaints about the issuing of Vouchers with tickets BWFC have announced the following to stop those people buying tickets but not attending the matches - Vouchers will no longer be issued for any away matches we now require proof of attendance which you will be awarded points, three of the following will suffice (3 points). Please attach with your application (must now be handed in person at the ticket office):" 1. A photo of you outsite the away club's pie / kebab / nooky shop. 2. A photo of you with a bloke in the towns or countries traditional dress (if its a German Team the outfit is just too gay so that will not be allowed as one of the three). 3. A seat from the stadium (clearly numbered). 4. A photo of you on the pitch (NOT during the game....unless we are losing). 5. Your smelly socks or soiled grundies bagged and certified upon your return. 6. A photo of your Wife's / Birds reaction when you advise her your 'going away' for a few days to watch the Whites (this may be classed as 2 points towards the 3 depending on the quality). 7. A photo of you in the Home Teams bath with your Wanderers trunks on. 8. A photo of you lighting a flare!!! 9. Grass cuttings. 10. An empty bottle of the local beer with an authenticity signed beer mat by the local bar 'person'.

Jol_BWFC Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 I think we'll have more than 1500, I really do. i must agree. there seems to be far more interest in the guimaraes game than the Plovdid match, where there were more than 1500 whites by the looks of it. some of happy's trips have sold out while the others are filling up quickly. considering the number of people who have booked their own travel too, the demand seems to far outstrip bulgaria. just consider the fact that it seems there are no hotel rooms left in Guimaraes, and its still 5 weeks until the game!! those who cannot afford to go to all the games, or who cant take the time off work, or who dont want to take young kids to a dodgy country will be looking for one plum away tie, and in my view this would probably be it.
Guest mrQ Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 The ground holds 30,000, I think im right i saying they average about 15,000............... we will all get in no problem imo.
Sweep Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 It will be just the same as Plovdiv, there will be no problem getting tickets at the ground. I would only envisage a problem if we progressed and drew a team with an incredibly small stadium. Other than that there might be a problem from the Semi's onwards. Even when Newcastle played Sporting in last years Quarters, neither ground was anywere near full. As Corporal Jones would say "Don't Panic"
bristol_wanderer Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 First of all, hello fellow Wanderers fanatics. This is my first post on here, have posted on rivals site previously. I agree we shouldn't be blaming he ticket office, they appear to be doing their best. However, I think the level of interest of BWFC fans for the UEFA cup is being underestimated here. With the trips from here, St Andrews Travel, and the club alone there are 10 flights going, most of which are sold out. Add to that the ones who are making their own way there and you have about 3000 already. I for one am quite shocked by this level of interest, I imagined that we'd have 100-200 at away games when we qualified last season. As it is this competition is rapidly making our club into something bigger and more reputable than it has ever been. Our fantastic support is being seen and respected by fans of football across the land. I am sure anyone who went to Bulgaria will testify that if it is possible to get to an European away game, then you have do it. Happy days
Casino Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 whether there will be tickets available over there or not, is not the point why not gauge demand now, and get on with securing tickets to service demand rather than waiting til a week before and trot out the old 'well, we just didn't realise' line id pay for my ticket now, just to take out the hassle later on
Guest Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 i believe that we are getting 5000 tickets for guimaraes.
Smiley Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Casino are you in the camp that says Utd, City and Liverpool should get the entire South Stand at the Reebok - as their demands would exceed this?
Casino Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Casino are you in the camp that says Utd, City and Liverpool should get the entire South Stand at the Reebok - as their demands would exceed this? ask the question again, in english?
Smiley Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 should we let Utd, City and Liverpool have 5000 tickets for the South Stand as they could obviously sell them, instead of letting our own JCL's have tickets - and at times, not fill the bottom bit.
Casino Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 i think there should be some tickets available for pay by the match fans at all our home games i also think that its criminal that a game has empty seats when there is the demand to fill them so, ideally utd et al could have as many seats as aren't required by bolton fans........ but we don't live in an ideal world, so with the need for segrgation, it isn't going to happen all in all, i think we're going to have to accept theres going to be empty seats if we can't sell ALL that quarter of the south to home fans hope that is clear(ish) now would you tell me where this is going
