richbwfc Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 Where has he dissapeared to? Would have expected him to have at least been on the bench tonight.
Guest kempo Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 I don't think there is room for him in the squad at the moment, he finishes goals not creates them.
RiCcI Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 he hasant finished many goals, not many that i can think of anyway
Guest Biff Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 Borgetti is packing his bags ready to be away in the January transfer window.
Casino Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 he hasant finished many goals, not many that i can think of anyway his goals per minute is probably far and away the best in the club
Eavesy Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 their is no probably about it, he does have the best goal ratio. HOWEVER, vaz te has produced 2 goals and 5 assists in the last 7 games. Borgetti is useless on his own upfront - FACT We wont change our formation - FACT Davies wont lose his place for a premiership game - FACT
HomerJay Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 he hasant finished many goals, not many that i can think of anyway his goals per minute is probably far and away the best in the club so was jardels....
RiCcI Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 he hasant finished many goals, not many that i can think of anyway his goals per minute is probably far and away the best in the club so was jardels.... exacly... its ok having a good goals per game ratio, but when you only play 5/6 games (if that) then its not very good is it
burndenwanderer Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 He's not been given a chance but we probably dont play the right formation for him to score 15/20 goals a season. I think he is there to give Davies a rest but he is not the same player as Davies.
Sweep Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 I also have a feeling that Borgetti may not be here much longer, as he doesn't suite our style of play. We took a gamble and so far it hasn't worked out as far as Borgetti is concerned. He really needs to be playing regularly as he will be spear-heading the Mexican strike force in the up coming World Cup. Maybe he will be farmed out on loan in January as opposed to being sold. If he does go out on loan, then I would expect a another 'battering ram' stlye forward to come in.
Arnold Jackson Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Just have my four pence worth on this one. There's no way anyone on earth could criticise the job Sam is doing at the moment so please don't think I would even go anywhere there... but I think Sam has been unfair and wrong on any goalscorers he has brought to the club cos he expects more than just goals from them. Borgetti is FULL of goals in my opinion, in the Premier League too. I'd say he was a good bet for the Golden Boot in the World Cup too Every year at the end of the season Big Sam says with a goalscorer we could have won more games and achieved even more, but I don't think he'd play Michael Owen if we had him. There you go just my opinion.
jolly-olly Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Jared cannot play the lone front man role, it's not his game so it is unfair to crticise him. I reckon we should try playing 2 up top in the UEFA and FA cups as an experiment.
uncle knobhead Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 I thought Davies won his fair share of ball but there was no support, even when Diouf and Vaz-Te were supposedly alongside him. I have seen him have better games but for me Davies was one of our better players. Gardner, forgetting a couple of errors was our best player last night. As for Borgetti, I ythink we may have seen the last of him, which is a shame because his record says he is a class goalscorer. You can't fit a square peg into a round hole though.
