I think it is a bit rich for the press to criticise Allardyce or any other manager for complaining about referees when that is exactly what they want so that they have something to write about. Football should go back to how it used to be. No press conferences after the game, managers and players keep their mouths shut and the papers just report what they have seen on the field during the 90 minutes. And no TV cameras in the ground and games kick off at 3pm on Saturdays. And players being paid realistic wages and no agents.

I do have some reservations about the way Sam rants after some of the matches and us been labelled a moaning club. But it's as a result of his management style and determination and fight he instills in the players on the pitch. We can't expect him to turn that passion and commitment off because he is infront of the camera's, nor should we expect him to.

 

Would we prefer some dickhead like O'Dreary who hasn't got all the post match passion of a wet fish and lacks the intellect to conduct an inteview, let alone manage a team successfully?

I've just been wondering about Sam's out burst with the match fact , was it just after the season had started or at the end of last season that he threatened Hackett that he would go public with all the facts and figures about the Ref performace when taking charge of a Bolton game, was this the first shot from Sam on this.
