Garrp Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Apart from the usual Nolan etc. JJ Okocha - Was quality today. Looking v good the last few games.
Corny Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 seconded thought he played very well again today, starting to look like the okocha of old agian which can only be a good thing...think its his new hair cut!
Eavesy Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Gardner was unbelivable, nothing got past him and he was a menace going forward. All those saying he isnt a left back can sit back down :D/
monkfish Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 seconded thought he played very well again today, starting to look like the okocha of old agian which can only be a good thing...think its his new hair cut! as much as I admire JJ, it's a too little too late. Contracts up at the season end and now he starts to look the part again. Would have been nice had he been consistent for the last 2 years. Charlton 4-1 home start of last season is the last time he really did somert special. I do hope he finds a good club and good contract, but.. not us. Use the wages elsewhere I think class player, find it hard to 'diss' him
jolly-olly Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Jay Jay did play well today. Let's hope he keeps it up. It's gotta be down to the new hair cut
Traf Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 He played well in Marseille too, kept it simple more often than usual. That seems to be the key.
Zico Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Charlton 4-1 home start of last season is the last time he really did somert special. perhaps, but for me there haven't been that many times he's done somert w??nk or worthy of the criticsm he gets this doesn't include the times he was forced to play on with an injury or when he shoots
Horwich Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Ricky Gardner has been one of our best players, what happend for the 2nd goal on thur though? all i remember was stelios at left back!! had ricky fucked off up the pitch?
burnden Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 as much as I admire JJ, it's a too little too late. Contracts up at the season end and now he starts to look the part again. Would have been nice had he been consistent for the last 2 years. good call
Miss BWFC Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 I have noticed that for the past few games I haven't thought "Just fcuk off Jay Jay" to myself. Decent game in Marseille, not a bad game yesterday (though still gave it away too often for my liking).
glossopWANDERER Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 jj deserves to play cause hes playing well in that new role playing alot deeper than in the past. we should give him a chance cause he is trying is hart out to finish on a high note
Zico Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 does anyone else think with his new haircut, JJ looks like Cat from Red Dwarf?
HomerJay Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 aye, the last couple of games, okocha has been playing the 'hierro' role which requires less box to box stuff so he is less buggered and is able spread the ball about all day long.
YATESY Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 JJ Okocha - Was quality today. He played in 2 or 3 superb crosses in the second half that were too good for anyone! Also, that shot would have broke the net if it was on target. My worry with JJ though, was plain for all to see on Sunday (as it was in Marseille)...defending. He simply can not track back and mark a man. IF he is to play the Hierro role - this is a major problem

Same as Carrick for spurs. Speed and Faye were there to win the ball, which worked.
