Sorin bid accepted... but not ours yet.

Featured Replies

From BBC.

According to the Sun (link below) and the Mail

Bolton's ??2.5m bid for Argentina skipper Juan Pablo Sorin has been accepted by Villareal, but Portsmouth, Stuttgart and Inter Milan have not given up hope of signing the full-back. (The Sun, Daily Mail)

Great! I read into that, that everyone now knows that ??2.5m plus an extra ??5k a week more than we are offering gets him. Guzzump away Pompey! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

If he arrives at the Reebok, first thing should be a bloody good haircut (preferably a no.1) Scruffy coont.

I also read that Spurs are interested, once a London club comes in sunny Horwich somehow doesn't seem so appealing to a player ](*,)

I really hope we can pull this deal off, because the bloke is class imo

We don't sell it too well do we? Get him up to Rivi Pike looking out over the magnificent vista of the Reebok and Lancashire beyond; stick a beef dripping butty and a can of warm Boddies in his hand and Bobs yer uncle. No one could resist that :D

You really know how to sell Bolton to a player Bolty, this "courting" of Soreen needs to be done on a Friday, and be a bit of an all dayer. So after his Rivvy trip and his beef dripping butty and pint of flat cap,it's off to the Starkie in a black cab for a "teatimer" and a coupla games of killer on the pool table with the friendly locals, chips babbys yed and peas from t,chippy, then off to Bradshawgate to sample Boltons "mental mile" ending up in the Dali bar dancing with a chunky slapper to cheesy holiday records, up to sizzlers for a dog breath kebab, quick knee trembler with the hefty dancing partner in the back street on the way to Bank st taxis and finally home. In the morning Soreen wakes up with a banging head, the breath of a turkish market trader, and the early itching stages of an STD. Then he says "Where do i sign?" :D

Oh bugger

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/tm_...-name_page.html

The Bolton boss is willing to pay ??2.5million for the Villarreal star and hopes to fly him in for talks after he finishes a family holiday in Brazil this week.

But Inter have made contact with Sorin over the weekend and want the versatile star to team up with his Argentinian mates Esteban Cambiasso and Julio Cruz.

Sorin is tempted by the Premiership, where he wants a ??40,000-a-week wage, but the lure of Serie A and the Champions League is greater. However, he wants to know if he will play or just be in the Inter squad.

Villarreal will sell Sorin after suffering the financial blow of missing out on European progress this season. They went out of the InterToto Cup at the weekend after reaching the last four of the Champions League last season.

Kinell Bogsy! After reading that, where do I fookin sign?! Sounds like bloody paradise to me.

This here's God's country.

Setting our own feelings aside for a moment, you'd have to expect him to go to Inter Milan, if given a choice.

I don't mind missing out on signings if they go to Milan etc, it's when they go to Pompey etc I get annoyed.

pompey is going to happen more and more though, surely

if yon mon has bottomless piles of cash, we can't compete

as for sorin, it seems a bloody big outlay to me

3 year deal is close to 6 or 7 million quid

and there'll be no big fee if/when he leaves

Spot on re: Pompey.

Regarding Sorin though; signing him would bring much-needed kudos. A signing like that could signal the intention and ambition required to get the attention of other players - particular johnny foreigner. This guy had an excellent season last year and a decent world cup.

jules, i'm assuming, possibly way off the mark, that sorin would be the key to open saviolas door

so i'm not against it

just a little wary

Sounds a tasty treat doesn't it?

Ravioli and Soreen?

Is he an out and out left back? We already have the 2nd best left back in the English football already.

Can play left back, centre half, left wing and centre midfield apparently.

It's more than possible, but he's a consistent performer too. If we got Sorin and Gardner keeps the high standards up, you have a very interesting potential partnership that is interchangable and that's invaluable with the system that we play.

Is he an out and out left back? We already have the 2nd best left back in the English football already: his name is Henrik Pedersen.

Sorin is coming as cover for Pedders.

i'd agree the left side looks much stronger

we'd have the left footed fortune, gardner, tal and sorin

keep two fit at any one time and we're in business

pompey have had a bid knocked back for gareth barry, so sorin could well be on their shopping list

I reckon Barry could do a job for us, too.

Cowdrill, that is! :D

if it's between us and pompey i reckon if we can show the bloke round the place, the ground, the facilities and tell him about the club i think we could convince him to join us over pompey as on that level i doubt they can compete

if it's down to money he'll join pompey

i'm hoping our interest in saviola and sorin will be the key to both deals going through, get one get both i reckon (hope)

And then Batitusta will join the ranks in a Les Ferdinand type of roll.

Saviola and Sorin could be two great deals for the club. And with Sorin being the Captin of Argentina that could be used to capture some young Argentina players.
