Latest On Anelka

SAM ALLARDYCE has revealed that Bolton Wanderers are close to signing Nicolas Anelka - but must wait for his club Fenerbache to ratify the deal.

The Wanderers boss' long, patient search for a proven goalscorer appears to be on the verge of being fruitful after the former Arsenal and Manchester City frontman confirmed his desire to come to the Reebok Stadium.

But with the player still under contract in Turkey, Wanderers must wait for the green light from Fenerbahce before they can proceed.

"It's no secret that we are trying to sign him but we are in the hands of Fenerbahce until that side of the agreement gets sorted out," said Allardyce.

He added: "We are flattered that Nicolas Anelka would consider joining us as he has expressed - but that is all it is at the moment. Until his club tells us that we can get on with the deal we are really in their hands.

"The deal has been negotiated for a considerable period of time. We've given more time to this than anything else but we can't quite get the president of Fenerbahce to put the rubberstamp on it."

However, Allardyce is concerned that news of the player's interest could alert other clubs and possibly jeopardise the deal.

He added: "Hopefully, that will be done sooner rather than later because when something like this becomes public, it concerns me quite considerably because it could alert other clubs to join in the race and spoil all the negotiations we've had. There's nothing we can do about that other than keep our fingers crossed."

Then why release this statement you fooking idiot.

I thought Anelka had gone public first? What's Sam supposed to do then?

Then why release this statement you fooking idiot.

Because Anelka's comments had already been issued.

Well that would be because Anelka has told the world he has agreed a 4 year deal yesterday. Every man and his dog knew we had been after him for ages. So i don't think Sam has done an awful lot wrong here.

Because Anelka's comments had already been issued.

Tank.

If that???s true, I didn???t see it quoted here, on the official website or Sky Sports.

In other words, until Fat Sam opened his fat mouth no one had mentioned the subject in the UK.

Don???t you people realise Harry Redknapp, Alan Pardew and Gordon Strachen read this forum to see who they can sign next.

Then why release this statement you fooking idiot.

As Anelka has already been spouting it's a done deal to L'Equipe, then I don't think it's realyl a secret is it. You only have to go onto soccernet.com and you will see that it's the main headline.

If you didn't see it on Skysports, then you didn't look very hard did you, as it was on there yesterday: http://home.skysports.com/transferarticle.aspx?hlid=411058

:::::::lol::::::: :rofl:

Its all over the papers this morning, it was spread across the net since yesterday afternoon. Reuters carried the story earlier in the evening, as did Sky, the BBC. Shall i go on?

That is the funniest thing i've heard. Lets all sack our scouts and read wanderers ways forum to see who we can buy. Happy, hope you are charging a fee to Messrs Redknapp, Starchan and Pardew for using the site to buy their players. natasha you really are duluded.

And if there was ever any doubt

Lets all sack our scouts and read wanderers ways forum to see who we can buy.

Er, we do that already. Half the pages on this site are rumours and lies about possible transfer targets.

I???m talking about other clubs using this site to do their scouting for them. For example, there???s a player in Bolivia called Messimo who could be the next Pele. Bolton send a scout to see him play a couple of league games for his club. So that???s flights, hotel for a week, expenses etc. You???re looking at ??5k just to have a look at this player.

The scout comes back to the UK and Fat Sam opens his big mouth to the press saying he???d like to sign Messimo. You lot discuss this for days on end and before long one of Redknapp, Pardew or Strachan signs the player but Bolton have paid the scout fee!

In short, keep your mouths shut. Pardew is watching.

Then why release this statement you fooking idiot.
I think the MAIN reason he has gone public right now is because he knows people will be very disappointed if another club steps in after all the reports that the deal is done!

At least this way we know where everything stands and it is a 'fingers crossed' job for all of us including Sam that a bigger club doesn't sneak in after all his good work!

In short, keep your mouths shut. Pardew is watching.

At first I was mildly amused, however the question must be asked --- how long til we can follow the other sites and ban this muppett????

Great idea, ban everyone who doesn???t like Allardyce.

You couldn't wait to jump in and have a go at Sam could you?

Yet when you're proven to be wrong you still spout your shite.

If Allardyce signs Anelka then I will congratulate him.

But until I see the French lad on the pitch at the Reebok I???ll take it with a pinch of salt just like I did with Rivaldo, Johnson and every other big name target Allardyce has failed to lure to Bolton.

The above statement is just Fat Sam???s way of shifting the blame. When Portsmouth/West Ham/Celtic hijack the deal he???ll be able to blame the Turkish club for not acting quickly enough.

and he would be right to in this instance, as everything seems to be waiting for the Turks to do their bit

No, didn't say that. Everyone has opinions -- however I think you are a person who will continually create opinion merely to evoke a response, or attention seeking if you will. Therefore I feel you are not worthy of joning in adult conversation.

If Allardyce signs Anelka then I will congratulate him.

You called Sam "a fooking idiot" (I think was the exact phrase) for making it public.

So now we've established he's not the one to make it public, he's just getting his excuses in early?

Make your bleeding mind up.

if the deal doesn't go through it will only be down to Anelka for deciding to go elsewhere or Fenerbache for not selling

for me Alladyce has done everything he can on this one

what else, within reason, can he do to ensure Anelka signs, given Anelka has said he's agreed a deal and is ready to sign

if another club were to come in and nick him, they would be offering more money, our deal is done, it won't change and shouldn't change

with Anelka's reputation and past, I doubt anyone would want him at their club if they were able to step in at the 11th hour and turn his attention with more money, it would not bode well, and if it didn't happen then we'd be better off without
