Following on from something Smiffs mentioned in another thread, i have to agree that we look back at Burnden with rose tinted specs. I would imagine that, if we were suddenly beamed back to Burnden now,we'd have a lot more moaners (although probably a lot less JCL's). I started going to Burnden as a kid in the sixties,and i can honestly say i can only remember the "special atmosphere" on maybe a couple of dozen occasions, the rest of the time is was an aniquated sh*thole, with less than 10,000 on, and on a wet wednesday night against the likes of Doncaster or Mansfield it could be thouroughly depressing. We HAD to move forward,or we would not be where we are now.What do you think, are our memories of Burnden seen through nostalgic, rose tinted specs?
