Does this mean that Bolton fans crave cheap tickets, or are they selling like hotcakes because we're doing so well? Or is it a combination of both?

 

This could be excellent free market research for BWFC, who have moaned about our crowds this season.

I don't think it's anything to do with the fact we are doing well whatsoever, it's all down to the fact tickets are ??15 and Blackburn is easier to get to the The Reebok, no matter how BWFC want to spin it.

i agree with the way that BWFC are pretending that its because we are doing well in the league it aint its because tickets are half price end of.

I think the focus groups/WW feedback sessions with the club are destined to fail. They haven't got a clue about what their customers want. The PR release in tonights BEN was not to promote the game but to dampden down the success of the cut price initiative

If it had been the last game of the season and a Champs League place was on the cards maybe the spokesmans comments would have been valid, otherwise a load of b??llocks.

I do applaude the club's intension to concentrate on their current support.

Not sure about that if we sell 7,000 tickets say 4,000 are adults at ??15 quid a pop, bet its more money than 1500 fans at ??32 a go not including the kids at a fiver??

Hmm, I think it's not quite as black and white as that. It should sell out as we know due almost entirely due to the cheap tickets, whereas normally there would have been a good few thousand less there. Thus the profit margin difference is maybe not as wide as you'd think. Now this will inevitably produce a good atmosphere and could well entice back some of the 'stay aways' to future games going someway to recouping any loss enatailed. If they reduce the tickets at further matches with similar good attendances then surely other clubs will have to take notice. Won't they?

it is good from a fans/atmosphere point of view however it seems to be a very stupid business move and we need to remember that football is a business

The Dingles ST holders have not received refunds as this is an experiment to generate interest in a local derby so the revenue is more that 28k x ??15 in your assumption. I agree though there's probably not a lot in it but I know I would rather watch football in full stadium rather than a half empty one. I seem to remember we did something similar the Fulham game a couple of seasons ago where it was 'kids for a quid' (as long as one adult ticket was purchased) and I reckon we added 4k to the gate that day.

yet more advertisement boards in the grond also drop the price of the programes and they would sell more so they can push up the prices for advertiseing space. simple

The whole PR machinery harping on about this being a well supported fixture because of Bolton's recent success is taking this angle so that the home game against Rovuuurs doesn't become a reciprocal deal. There's no way our board will make that game a quid a kid or some other initiative to draw the crowds. It'll be up there at ??37 and the dingles will suddenly realise what we have known for years; BWFC are a bunch of rip-off mercheants!
