Now then.

We don't really know what to expect from the summer's signings - we've been linked to great players, sh?te players and loads inbetween.

We've no idea how Sammy will play it next year, how much budget we've got, if current players will leave etc.

For me it's freshened things up - life as a Bolton fan has been better than good recently - it's been superb based on league position etc, but has somehow been a bit sterile.

I'm more excited about this close-season and the impending league programme than I have been for ages - maybe it's the uncertainty, but it's got my juices going again.

Is it just me?

Its not just you, them relegation dogfights really get the pulse racing. <not being sarcastic either>

I agree, life under allardyce was becoming mind numbingly boring, we are now back to uncertainty, excitement, that is what I like about being a bolton fan it was never boring always something different, you can keep the trophy winning boring repetitivity of the man u and chelseas of this world it was never for me.

The idea that league position is the only thing we should worry about has always been bullshit. If that werte true the scum and Chelsea would have the happiest fans going. Supporting a crap team can be twice as good - not that I hope we're crap next year of course.

couldnt agree more.. i crave excitement not stability. without wanting to ue an old analogy, its like we have dumped our frumpy old wife, for what could be a racy little number... she may not always have our tea on the table, but by god she gets the juices flowing...

or we get her into bed and find out shes a tranny :pardon:

either way i am looking forward to experiencing something new

Me too am excited at the uncertaintly of the way we are going to play, what will happen, who we will sign

Cant wait to get the new season underway, this is the most excited I have been for a while about the new season starting

Its all good fun!

next season could the greatest in our history, or the worst in the last 3 years...

at least theres no mediocrity at bwfc!

you ever been fucked up the arse by a 8 foot builder ?

someone needs to save this thread and if we are involved in an exciting end of the season like sheff united this season i look forward to the cheers !!

i hope we can improve the style fo football buiy not at the expense of results, by exciting i do nt mind if we need to win our last game 4-0 to get in the champions leage, but i do if we have to win and hope results go for us to stay up.

the last time i felt uncertainty was our first two seasons in the prem

they were only exciting when we knew we'd stayed up

if that's what ahead of us I ain't looking forward to it at all

we have a bigger squad than we have had for any year in the Prem (so long as we hang on to our 'big' players)

so personally i am pretty optermistic and trust Little Sam to guide us to a top 10 finish

I wasn't saying that I'd prefer a relegation battle to mid-table mediocrity; more that "not knowing" what we're going to get in terms of new recruits, style and results is exciting to me - a nervous excitement maybe but nonetheless I'm checking what's going on alot more than I did last summer...

The safety blanket has been stripped away!

I echo some previous comments in that the only excitement I want to see is cup semi finals/finals, European qualification, and possibly some more flexible tatics, with more attacking intent against poorer teams.

i'll take it as a yes...

I'll take getting through the group stage of UEFA Cup, a decent run in one of the domestic cups and a safe midtable position now.

I was just commenting on your comments & trying to clarify what my initial post meant - i.e. that it's interesting times NOT that I'm not looking for BWFC to have a relegation dogfight - responding to posts is kinda what you do on a messageboard, but Cassie was asking me to respond to what seemed to be a direct question to someone else.

Folk seem to be a bit grumpy today....

but my post was aimed at people saying they would rather have an exciting new experience than the stability of recent years.

i have no problem with your post about little sam spicing things up it is more interesting than for a while, but that does nt mean it will be good in the long run.

Exciting yes, intriguing, all that sh?t...but I'd rather things had stayed as they were

I'm worried that we may have seen the end of the foreign legion, when many of our best signings (especially value wise) of recent years have been from abroad. Does little Sam have the ability to unearth these gems?

Samuel and McCann will do for me, but he's going to have to acquire better than that eventually...

no, but that chief scout he poached from Liverpool is meant to know his onions

i'm not meaning to put dead sam down but i dont know as he 'unearthed' the talent

maybe he was a persuasive chap in selling his ideas, but the scouting of players wasn't just him

he's said himself he relied heavily on agents

fcuk uncertainity.

me too, but I remember we had that season before last and loads b?tched about how we f**ked the season up and how it ended with dissapointment!

you ever been fucked up the arse by a 8 foot builder ?

is that an offer?

not that i am aware of, and i am fairly certain even i would remember that

I'm under the impression that we have to play 5 home based players (i.e. UK players) inthe UEFA Cup next season. I think that's why we are filling our squad with home based players.
