Forget about what he has done wrong so far as manager. Lets talk about Lee's performance/decisions for the Spurs match.

He should be praised for what he did, he made some brave changes, we looked a balanced side and then it was down to the lads on the pitch.

 

The big one was bringing Campo in and dropping out of form McCann and it worked. He dropped Hunt for O'Brien which should please a lot of fans, and he dropped Cid.

He also was brave enough to take the captain off, which a lot of managers wouldn't have the bottle to do.

All in all a good performance by the manager, if not the players. Give him some praise where it is due.

p.s. it is looking more and more likely that Sammy Lee will be out of the door very soon because the damage has already been done.

I think LSL was a desperate man to bring campo back. Theres no doubting his ability, he proved that in 2nd half but after what he said about the state of the squad earlier in the season and that everyone misses fat sam he should have gone

I agree with whats been said with Campo, Hunt, Nolan etc and the positives that Sammy did yesterday but any one of us could have made those changes without thinking too hard.

 

However, the players he has brought in aren't our standard, but the standard of the promoted teams who buy 'experienced' players to remain in the division.

 

Also, settling for a draw with half an hour to go really annoyed me!! We should have drilled them yesterday especially the start they have had yesterday.

Which changed when Alonso came on, he injected a bit of pace and the ability to close people down, the only problem then was the rest of the midfield looked fucked and therefore could not help him out

As previosly quoted this smacked of desperation from LSL. Who is picking the team, the manager or the fans? If he was resolute that Campo was not the answer this shows all the signs of weak management, regardless of Campo's performance.

Spot on,i would also rather have lost than drawn.

With Chelsea and Arsenal to come after Derby it doesn't really matter if he's sacked after 8 games or 10 games because we wouldnt win games 9 and 10 even if we had a great manager if the opposition play well.

I agree it was madness to sell Faye from both a defensive and midfield point of view.

 

I am struggling to see how you can say that the central defensive area is not our weakpoint though. Meite/O'Brien are IMO an average Prem defensive pairing, but when one of them is unavailable we have nothing of prem quality to come in. My fear is Cid and Michalik up against Man Utd or Arsenal in the coming weeks. What is the record high Premiership score? It may be challenged. More importantly we will never achieve a clean sheet against anybody unless O'Brien and Meite remain consistently in form, fit and available.

My concern is that he seems uninterested in that part of his job (recruitment). Yep - possibly. But I struggle with this one, I mean if you were managing a group of people, surely you would know best who needed bringing in, in terms of ability, character, fitness etc. etc. Having a general manager/chief scout to find players is great, but the ultimate drive and decision must come from the manager? BSA gives the impression he finds out and understands all aspects of a prospective signings life before they sign on the dotted line, whereas LSL gives the impression that he only gets involved once the player turns up for the first coaching session.

I think we need to give Andranik / Alonso a starting place to provide a bit more balance. I would also drop Nolan for Braaten or Wilhelmsson.

The midfield currently just gets over run every week and so the defence is exposed and is getting all the blame.
