Wilhelmsson To Deportivo La Coruna

Swede to swap Bolton for Spain

Christian Wilhelmsson is set to leave Bolton for Deportivo La Coruna.

The Swedish international is currently on loan at Bolton from French side Nantes, but he has struggled to establish himself at the Reebok Stadium.

The flying winger has made only four starts in his 13 appearances for the club since his arrival on loan last summer.

Wilhelmsson does not figure in Gary Megson's plans and the news has alerted Deportivo.

Bolton are prepared to end Wilhelmsson's loan deal to allow him to join Deportivo.

Deportivo are set to sign Wilhelmsson on loan until the end of the season with the option of a permanent deal.

The former Roma ace is expected to undergo a medical in Spain on Monday before tying up his loan move.

Deportivo's move for Wilhelmsson will end their interest in Manchester City's Geovanni.

I hope he leaves his girlfriend here :p

Not that bothered, imo he doesn't look good enough for the Premier league.

Too lightweight

I would not let anyone leave the reebok at the moment, let alone a pacy swedish international, will we replace him with better quality I doubt it, The lad aint settled well but sometimes it takes a season.

problem is Mounts, he's only on loan for the season. And in the position we find ourselves in, we need players who can make an impact now.

I don't rate the guy, but we are in no position to let more forward players leave. Yes he frees up wages, but unless we put those freed up wages to use then it is pointless. I would only let him go if we already have someone coming in, and at the moment we don't.

His pace could be badly needed in our front line soon. We will have Davies Stelios and Nolan in the front 3, there is no pace to exploit a defence there.

is there a limit on loan players we can have?

if so, might be necessary to get him out

regardless, still can't believe the panic thats set in

we aint going to get players of the class we want in until nearer the window shutting

ie when players realise we're the only bar still open

For some reason, I think that a club is only allowed 5 loan players, I might have just invented that in my head though

I wish someone would take Braaten off us!!

tell me that when the door slams shut in our face.

The bar might still be open, but the bell has been rung and the bouncers want us out.

so you prefer we buy any old shite now

not fer me, thanks all the same

wilhelmsson is not a bad player, hes a typical winger...inconsistant.

on his day he is a good as anyone in our squad.

whether theres room for such a player in our team (or the premier league) though, is questionable.

No, but a few goods un have moved, milan baros for example, another one we could pick up is Misfud, creative and scoring for fun against premier league opponents.

IMO Baros would be a very good signing, always rated him at Liverpool, and he didn't do badly at Villa. He is way better than anything we have at the moment.

Agree with that (apart from Marlon King) and it looks like Megson agrees.

baros is a headless chicken

and at villa as prolific as davies

try again

id much prefer to see nugent become available, which is probably more likely now

Really? I suppose everyones opinions are different, but for me I think they will be about the same price, and I would much prefer Baros then Nugent. At the moment though I wouldn't mind Nugent to be brought in.

Still begs the question why we let Anelka go before signing anyone,

Football suicide

and relegation to the championship as a consolation.

Yippee

Baros' record at Liverpool was a goal every 4 games.

His record at Villa was a goal every 3.4 games.

His record in France is a goal every 4 games.

If we'd have signed him, we could only have expected a maximum return of 4 goals this season. That wouldn't have silenced the moaners, so we're better out without.
