Megson Can I Just Point Out

The fact that we were bottom when he got here and the fact that we now looking like staying means one thing.

He is a better manager than Sammy Lee.

This does not mean he is the right man to sort things out at the club, however I have yet to see a better realistic option.

The fact the players only started to play for last few games puts a massive question mark over megsons ability to motivate a team throughout a season.

I knwo there are other threads on similar subjects but thought we needed anonther one !

so we get rid of players with enough ability because the manager can not manage them ?

get a few lads in who are keen ?

'sulky arrogant bastard' would be in the personality profile of a lot of pro footballers.

a good manager can manager players with bad attitudes. if we want to compete in the 'best' league in the world why do it with a manager who can not do the full job ?

I will not change my mind about Megson he's a fcukwit and if he stays in charge we will be in the same position this time next year.

Would you expect any other manager to do anything better?

Would you expect any other manager to do anything better?

seeing what was on offer at the time of his appointment, no I cant see any one else doing better

Well the club has a few months now to find a solution to the problem as they should've done this time last year when BSA fcuked off

And back to the question I asked the other day (without any answers I may add) who, not who you would like, but who with the rose tinted glasses off do you think will come and mangage us

It all depends on how much money the board will give the manager to spend.

A ?25 million transfer pot will attract a higher calibre than last season's transfer pot.

Bang on :good:

Bang on :good:

But not an answer to the question. I don't see any sense in making life difficult for megson, the board or the club unless there is a

good answer to tyldesely_white's question.

There are a lot of key players leaving in the summer and we need stability to ensure we get off to a good start next season. If we

are not in a relegation scrap this time next year it will be a successful season IMO, a decent cup run would be nice.

Hold on a minute...Megson was a done deal, no other manager was even considered for the post, so the club didn't even go through the process...he is still a poor manager, again we stayed up inspite of his tactical ineptness

You didn't finish your post with the required use of FACT or VITK or even DOUBLE FACT WITH FACT SAUCE ON!

JSL!

We let me ask you question, apart from Souness saying he was contacted, but when found out Megsons agent was involved in the process, he withdrew from the application, all we heard were managers (Coleman and Jewell) saying they had not been contacted......if there were other people interviewed, funny how no-one else said owt, and the Megson name was touted from the start, and then got the job due to his unquestionable footballing credentials

So as you say Souness was contacted, that therefore contradicts you first post, because if he was contacted then he must have been considered

As soon as I heard Megson had been appointed - I was sure we were going straight down - no question about it. He's proven me wrong and even if it was by the skin of our teeth - we've managed to stay up. I think his signings have looked sound for the most part (Rasiak aside - although I doubt he was ever meant to be anything other than a squad player and a stopgap in case Davies got injured). I'd have gladly accepted fourth from bottom when he arrived and he fact that he's achieved the job he was asked to do means that in my book - he deserves another season at least before we make a decision on whether to get rid. The situation he inherted was awful - he looks to have steadied the ship and I'll be interested to see what his plans are for next season - with his own new signings and a pre season under his belt. There is a whole heap of dead wood lying around which he needs to get rid of - and will by the sounds of it. Put me down for another season and blame me if it all goes horribly wrong!

IIRC

We asked about Coleman and got told it'd cost us a million.

We asked about Bruce but Brum wouldn't let us speak to him because they were all tossing about with that Carson Yeung stuff.

So yeah, it's bollocks. Megson was the best of a truly awful bunch, and i don't think that has changed at all.

Do you knw what the word apart means ........god, you could do with reading the post first

Well I cant see us getting a cup run with Megson - Sheffield United; Lisbon - both games should have been won with a strong team selection

99% wanted Megson out 4 weeks ago and its not his team selections or the tactics that have made the difference - its the attitude and desire of several players that have got us the 10 points (plus some luck for a change) - For me he should go

yawn still waiting.....

Quite a few on here do not think that Megson is the right man to take us forward,so who is then?

no other manager was even considered for the post,

was your first post, you added the "apart from" in another post.

So apart from Souness,Coleman and Bruce it would seem that you are right, :nea:

hi what have the Romans ever done for us <_<

Edited by tyldesley_white

How about Aidy Boothroyd? Phil Brown? Steve Coppell? Tony Mowbray? Martin Jol? Oh. and I think Sven may be available soon!

Sorry Homer do yo honestly believe that? I'd say the majority of fans wanted him out 4 weeks ago (and still do).

Don't let the demo give you an indication of the number who wanted him out.

Only way we'll find out is ST sales and if we start with a home match against say Portsmouth and its attendance.

We need pro-active ST prices they may help stem the flow of people not renewing.

Following on to a general note anyone who spouts (and nobody has for while) ,"I'd rather have 8k on who support the team than 25k moaning etc.", would be talking sh!te.

The Reebok was banging on Sat & if we get that kind of attendance each game it would be step in the right direction.

GET THE PRICE RIGHT & THE SEATING AREAS RIGHT.

Just my opinion like :pardon:
