It was only a matter of time until some pretentious arsewipe with a false sense of superiority arrived to slag off someone elses musical preferences. You must know your stuff if you say coldplay are crap! That goes COMPLETELY against popular opinion! What a rebel!

But Coldplay have become utter dogwank, they've disappeared further up their own arses than Radionhead and that takes some doing. That's the popular opinion, their album will only sell a few hundred thousand copies in a country of some 60 million people.

Personally I think it's refreshing to see a band who actually evolve their craft and see growth in music. Most bands are one-dimensional (Oasis eg) and turn out pretty much the same thing time and time again. Coldplay have clearly grown as writers and musicians from the simplistic indie 'Parachutes' to the wonderfully produced "X&Y" and the new offering is even better, the production, songwriting and musicianship is superb.

 

I don't particularly care for Chris Martin as a personality (perhaps oxymoronic), but as a band Coldplay are, for me, the best in the world - not my favourite - but the best.

 

Because they don't sing about drugs, alcohol and f*cking and they didn't come from Manchester or the working class, people don't like them cus it isn't cool to do so

Puressence are great, they've actually been going since early 90's and met on the way to a Stone Roses gig. My mates been trying to get me to watch them for the last 3 years but I keep missing them.

 

MGMT have been highly recommended to me too, but everytime I try downloading them, something goes wrong.

Pigeon detectives not really listened to it properly, didnt sound a world beater.

Coldplay album is growing on me.

Listened to the new futureheads album and its quite turd.

Kids in glass houses album is quite good, few catchy songs.
